Wooden Slats ???
I have been meaning to post a screenie of this but have been putting off "repairing"
my web page for about... well... a long time.
Fly into a docking bay at any station. Stop. Look at the back of the docking bay.
In the middle of the back wall is what seems to be a "doorway." The doorway is
partially blocked by what appear to be wooden slats. Lumber. Five 2 x 8s or some-
thing like that. Or does anyone see something else?

That must be the most expensive airlock in space.
Must have been at Odia M-14. Probably so (unnamed) drunks looking for a toilet don't open the airlock by mistake.
I honestly have no idea what you are talking about :)
I see what apears to be a doorway (closed, of course), but see nothing that could be described as wooden (although it looks more like concrete than metal).
/me really wants to see a screeny!

Might be one of those "very high" texture resolution gimmicks, like the signs on the Atlas' hatches.
Hey Yoda... Give me an e-mail address and I'll send you a screenie.

Looks fine, not particularly wooden looking, IMO.

Yep that's what mine looks like too. Not too wooden though.
Yeah, mine look a lot like Beolachs, only not as bright (i think space in this game is too bright anyway!) and Celkan, I usually play at 1280x1024 with everything maxed (I usually jump to smaller res for screenies taking/movies) One of them High resolution things? maybe a low res thing :P

It looks like a ladder.
Those are the cogs that the gear grabs to lift the lower half of the blast door. The brownish color is the lubricant.
hmmm the station cleaning bots aren't doing the job properly again.

Hmmm...
Beolach's screenie looks quite a bit like what I see but quite a bit brighter. I still
think it looks like wood. And you can see through the spaces between the "slats"
to an area inside. If not wood, what? Bronze? Brass? Gold? And yes Yoda, most
of the stations texture looks like concrete to me too.

It DOES look kinda like wood.
just chalk it up to bad texturing and call it a day, nothing really looks metal anyway. Well, accept for the new ships.
John... "except"... not "accept"... homonym confusion!
Thanx for the spelling corection "icbm." And "johnhawl" yes, we could "chalk it up"
to bad texturing, a bad hair day or whatever. I thought it somewhat curious that
something that looks like a temporary board-up of an old store-front would be
found on a high-tech space station. Whether it's wood or something else is a question, but what's really odd is: why is the area behind it seemingly open to the
hard vacuum of space?
