[Attempts to confuse other users deleted. Please don't do that again.]

For the lazy, I have included the actual newspost:

"The main vendetta-online webserver will be undergoing maintenance this evening, to upgrade some software for added performance and scalability. These upgrades will take place between 6pm and midnight CST, and will probably not result in noticable downtime."

For those with poor reading-comprehension skills, low-vision, short attention span, etc., a translation:

FOR A SHORT TIME TONIGHT, THIS WEBSITE MIGHT NOT WORK. TRY AGAIN LATER.

Satire does not equate to attempts at confusion. A pretextual claim RE confusion to justify a use of deletion power to target posts with a content message that upsets you is sad.

No reasonable user could possibly be confused by the posts here previously =P

[EDIT] That may be, Leber. But if so, it's only because FM can be a [Removed - I wouldn't allow anyone else to be referred to that way] sometimes. Drunk wid the powuah? Nah. But deciding to whack a post ridiculing the emergence of caps and/or a UI within the foreseeable future because of "confusion"? Apparently so. This edit has been brought to you by the number 3, and letters "s" and "b."

LOL Lecter you assume that all the readers have a reasonable level of reading comprehension.

I'm thinking you're getting on FM's bad side more and more often. Hrm.

Er, ya...I'm drunk with power...or something. WooOOoo Yes, that heady feeling of power over a few lines of text still provides me with the personal affirmation I so desperately need. Even after 3 years. Geez.

I was actually emailed by somebody I know (though I might pretend not to know them anymore) regarding the "rumors" of an update tonight. There has also been very clear evidence recently that:

1) People don't read the newsposts (or threads) carefully, and
2) many other people don't read them at all and rely on others for news.

Yay, I updated the webserver. We were down for about 5 seconds. I wonder if anyone noticed?

Incarnate, chances are that if anyone DID notice, they paid it no mind and hit refresh right away.

FM - I did not post in an attempt to deceive or confuse anyone in any way. It was obviously a total joke. Further, I resent the accusation and demand a full apology.

PS I always read the news posts.

PPS The station news has gotten dismal lately, how about spending some of your energy there? Good place for an apology...

Lighten up tumble. He said he got an email from someone confused, so apparently, someone was confused.

In other news, I do not know when there will be an update, tonight or otherwise. When I find out, I will post something. I get the impression that things are moving along productively, but I have no real idea how close to "production" it is, or what is where.

We haven't had a meeting yet this week (usually on mondays), due to logistical problems. Otherwise I might know more. I'll post when I do.

For shame.

You put user pilotable capships and the new UI on the server? What? Awesome!

Well, I was kinda joking again there too.... "Demand a full apology..." Sheesh. I'd settle for FM not deleting so much stuff.

I kinda assumed it was a bit of a joke (no offense intended). I actually don't delete much at all. I'll have to start keeping records. I'd settle for people showing some responsibility for their own community and making an effort to keep the threads resonably on-topic and clear to read. Additionally, if people go back and look at my initial post they will see that I did not identify any users who had their posts deleted, and that my request was phrased in a cordial manner.

Regarding the station news, what is your specific concern? Most of the posts are automated, and I or one of the other guides have posted all appropriate content submitted by the users in the Role Playing forum.

Speaking of thread topics, this one is pretty much useless now. Anyone else wanna heap abuse on me before we lock or delete it?
