Does anyone know of a downloadable capture device besides fraps? In attempting to record video, my audio refuses to be recorded with it. I've doublechecked that the Record Sound button is checked, yet no audio is recorded. I have raised the volume of the recording devices manually through control pannel. It currently shows my Sound Device as "SigmaTel Audio" and my sound input as "Line in". I have a feeling the "Line in" is the problem due to the fact that... well... I don't want to record from a line in, but from the game. However, I don't know how to change it on fraps. Any help would be awesome.

Edit: just tried another recording program and it can't detect my recording input either, so i'm pretty sure this is the problem. The thing is, I can hear sounds fine during gameplay, just not in recorded video... any suggestions?

The dirty way is to plug your line out to your line in....

What kind of cable would I need to do that?

I think my only other option would be buying a new sound card. Something that offers "Mixer" or "Stereo Mix" or "Stereo out". Something like that. I would need to buy hardware for this right? Drivers and codecs won't fix this I assume.

From fraps: How can I adjust the volume of the sound that is recorded?

You must configure the volume through the "Sounds and Audio Devices" item in the Control Panel. Use the following steps:

*Click on the Control Panel and select Sounds And Audio.
*Click on the Audio tab.
*Find the Sound Recording device and click Volume.
*Adjust the volume for the Input that Fraps is recording from. This is usually named "What U Hear", "Record Master", or "Stereo Mixer".

If you can't see the correct Input on screen you may need to enable it by clicking on Properties in the menu and ensuring all Inputs have a check beside their name.

Yeah, I told him all this already, he says he only has 3 options, but well, i mean, if his soundcard is like an ISA Sound blaster 16 it might not be full duplex >.> (me thinks that isnt very likely)

I'm just gonna get a new soundcard. (sigh)

Some of the clips I've gotten already won't be able to be recreated, so I'm going to try and take sound effects from the game and doub it in parts.

Hey, can I see them?(the clips) I have 1 gigs worth of spymac space you could use.

Video has been tested and captures work.

Filming will resume Wed. at around 0:00 or 01:00 GMT.

Filming is going to be delayed by a few hours tonight.
I'll probably be able to get on by around 03:00 GMT. Sorry for the short delay, real life stuff.
