Legacy Wing Commander 1 ships for the win! I can barely remember what they looked like anymore.. didn't the raptor have more of a front wing than those did?

the TPG raptor is much cooler looking and modern but lets face it, no one could even dream of stuff that nice for PC's in 1990.

Ah yes, the Confed raptor, I liked it alot better than the Rapier of its day. Could waste a Salthi in 2 shots and anything else in 3!

I totally pulled the name "raptor" out of the air. I had forgotten there was a WC raptor. It just seemed like a ship name that we hadn't used yet.

Oddly, I do remember the Broadsword ship. Wasn't that the bomber? Ahh, Wing Commander.

You should name your new ship "The Tumblemonster" after the best looking most charismatic dude in the game.

it's probably fresh in your mind cause i've suggested several times a slow turboless bomber armored to hell that requires escorts to survive aka a broadsword :)

Raptor is also a BSG ship, that one comes to mind more then the WC ship.

Spence: no, I remember flying the broadsword. I meant it stuck more in my mind from playing the actual game, back in 1992 or whatever.

I have no problem at all with using the name "raptor" for a new fighter ship. It fits the ship perfectly.

Screw Wing Commander and any other previous people who may try to copyright a common word in the english language. Now, if we tried to name a ship TIE Fighter, yeah I'd have a problem with that because it is definitely a unique name and obviously ripping off Star Wars. But seriously, naming a fighter ship a word literally meaning "flying creature that kills things" just makes sense.

Once again, screw Wing Commander. Call it the Raptor.

This macguy not only doesn't play, he doesn't even bother to read the whole threads or newsposts. Geez, what a maroon...

Now now. Can't just go around calling people maroon. Sounds like more of a scarlet :P

And just because we don't have it doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't been stuck in the game engine in some fashion. I'm sure the devs pop in the model with no control points or textures to make sure everything loads correctly and that there's no rendering issues before they go ahead and make it a pilotable, edible ship. Demanding screenshots is a perfectly valid, if unreasonable and annoying, use of macguy's time.

Well, you see, things is that for US (the players) to see the ship we need a new client patch, so even if the Devs have a whole fleet of raptors flying around every sector, we cannot see them, and thus, no screenshots. This is another bit of info you'd have gathered had you read the threads.

As for maroon... how 'bout fuschia then?

So the devs couldn't possibly have put it into their test client, taken a screenshot and released it?
