We get 30-40 pilots at a time during the peak hours, but there's no official info on how many active players or subscribers there are.
Not bad for an unadvertised game still in development.
(Actually 45 at the moment)

/me pokes FiReMaGe to get IRC back online so the VAPG will update.
35-40 during peak hours... :( what happened to 100-130?
ne way just complaining, and waiting for the marketing push.

When the game was first released (Nov. 2004) there were about 50-75 players on-line at peak hours, it has now declined to about 35-50.
"it's almost complete to start marketing." -Nya13
Only the devs can determine that.

Hell, when the game was first released, we broke 300 players at one time... For a month or two, we were pretty steady in the 100+ range. Now? Bah!
I blame IA's and IDF's "leadership". Note teh quotes.
I blame the lack of race track missions.
I blame jexkerome.
I blame well-meaning posters who don't consider that their statements make it sound as if Vendetta was on the skids ;)
At the time of release there was a bit of fanfare and media attention that brought people in. Since then some users have moved on and there has been no attempt to try to attract more users yet.

Well, it doesn't really matter what we say, the game hasn't been advertised right?

The game hasnt failed though, cos us ninnys are still here a year + more later shape :P
I kinda agree with FM, pointing out the fact that there were lots before is kinda pointless, cos it had just been released, and some *other game* (me points at enb guild) had just closed at the time, one with a cult like following, all looking for a new home.
Some actually felt right at home here, some didnt, I'd like this game, even if i was playing it by myself, but like anygame, people take breaks, the great thing about vendetta, is when ya do take a break, ya come back, and at least something has changed :)

/me waits for the devs to call him to start the marketing push...

This has not been so true as of late…wish it were so, but it's not

well, a break can be a year, stop being so fussy markmchawl :P
they should make some sort of player operated marketting system or something. Sort of like getting referrals that can earn you items, free time, or other things and such. Might help.
Thanks for the suggestion. Although that tactic might be employed at some point, the issue isn't that Guild is at a loss for ways to market Vendetta, it's that they don't want to market it yet. There are some things that really should be in place and operating as expected before money is spent on bringing hordes of people in. Recently Guild has been investing a great deal of effort in tackling some of the larger issues involved.
