That makes sense....

One other thing worth noting... and this may or may not be an issue worth dealing with:

The convoys stubborness in maintaining its formation is extremely detrimental to their health. If you catch a convoy right when it jumps in, it spends a few moments kind of mulling about, and becomes a ridiculously easy target.

It would seem to me (and again, this may or may not be an easy issue)that if a freighter was being attacked, it would break formation and try and outrun its attackers.

Other than that, they're a bloody tough kill...

Found a new convoy bug:

I was in the middle of a TPG convoy and I started shooting. The rocket hogs started attacking me, one from in front and one from behind. The one in behind me accidentally hit the one in front of me with a rocket. Apparently, the one in front didn't care for that, because it engaged the one behind me and they fought each other. It was funny.

I just witnessed an entire VOY spontaneuously combust....

1pm PDT ODIA to SEDINA WH, ODIA side...

not sure what nation... they were off in the distance...

heh, i saw it too, a strikeforce got hit by another strikeforce, and they decided to pwn each other :D was funny stuff, only this was in production :D i think that should stay a feature :P

Heh, if you see spontaneous NPC combustion, it's probably us killing off bots to run a new test.

Yeah, we totally should have mauds. But most of the time it picks behemoths because the convoy is told to move hundreds of crates of stuff.

Hey, I know this has been mentioned before... but I'ma gonna mention it again...

...the ships in the voy carry unreal amounts of cargo.... no where near what they actually should be able to carry...

for example:

I boomed a Cenatur, in a Centaur... and I couldn't even grab half of the cargo it dropped....

I noticed some mean Flare Vultures. I didnt last 10 seconds man.. These convoys require pirates to group up with 3 or 4 at least.

They carry the right *number* of cargo... as if all cargo only took up 1cu, whereas a lot of their holdings take up 3cu. Yeah, that's dumb.

They're actually Sunflare/AGT warthogs.. the vultures just have NeutIIs. There was also no cap on the number of escorts per trader it would assign, so the convoys that got pirated in B8 eventually had a cloud of like 500 escorts. God, I almost died laughing.

Should be toned down a bit now...

Good stuff.

Yeah, fighting in WH sectors is gonna be a BAD idea from now on... Like Fugue said earlier tonight when we were fighting in B8, it was like fighting in soup...

hope that gets fixed...

I hope that the convoys "attack other NPC" behavior remains, or is the basis for pirate bots.

Because damn. That would bring so much life into the game :D
