I just signed up, and was wondering how long this game has been out?

The official launch date was 1st November 2004, but it had been in development and had a number of players during the Vendetta Test period prior to the official launch for a number of years.

Version 2.8 (the first public version) was introduced either in late 2001 or early 2002... 3.0 was in early Fall of 2002...

Vendetta Test 2.2.2 was the first public version. I honestly can't remember when we released it (Firemage and Whistler might remember? they came on around then). The Test was not anywhere close to "this game", however. This Game launched on November of '04, like Beolach said. It was an open engine test and eventually an alpha and beta during previous years.

I joined on 6/7/02. I can't recall the version, but I *think* I recall patching to 2.2.4 back then, so I may have begun in 2.2.3 . FiReMaGe predates me and may recall better than I. He has a better head for numbers.
