I so mist my Avalons. Please bring them back. Just for the Sercos? Or just a capship battle?
I think they have a point with the new Queen/Hive situation.
It was always so entertaining to launch them from way out at a station. Watch to see who was going to get the prize with a timely dock or undock. Granted the NFZ resolves that to some degree.

me remembers trying to blow up a station with 300+ mines in the docking bay, courtesy of Stick. That really lags a sector when they go b000000m
who remembers Bounty Bot?!?!?!
Weapon upgrades were from Red -> Green -> Blue.
Anyone else think BountyBot could easily make a return? Maybe Sedina B-8?
Is player behind the bot still here?

doubt it, but possible
if you put the ogg file into the vendetta online folder, you can play it in vendetta, just type in /playmusic ambient7.ogg
For those who dont know...
man, just hearing it in-game again brings back *sniff* old memories :)

Okay. I listened to ambient7.ogg...
Meh. It's.... ambient.
(Am I missing something?)
I'm gonna convert a good number of MP3's to ogg tonight and load'em in. Powerman 5000 here we come.
Reading this thread, it's painfully obvious to me (a Dec 2004 subscriber) that I've missed out on quite a large amount of V-O.

tons!!!
Leber: It's the first music ever to be heard in Vendetta. It also was the only music for a long, long time, so it sort of got associated with Vo. Sort of like the "beep" noise when you get a hit, or the "ring" with a telephone. You hear that, you remember fond old times with vendetta.
That's just for starters. Better buckle up, I know some alphas (including me) could go on and on...
Yeah, you guys certainly can. Can we move this thread to off-topic?

Why? Its still on topic, and its about vendetta :P
Theres a few things I dont miss from alpha too, dying for no apparent reason with the Unknown player node 0 thingy was my first pet peeve :P I think alienb was my second, hehe, but these things cannot be helped :D

Aha. I see now, thank you Starfisher.
you've all forgoten mine art, that was awsome some of the patterns you could make with a load of mines.
...and I can't believe no one's mentioned defbots and the ancient art of defbot distraction... the penultimate tactic in CTF! They could easily outrun you and blast you apart even while rolling, so you had to make a series of short boosts in a specific pattern to confuse their poor little targeting AIs, allowing the flag carrier to slip past. I was the best damn defbot distractor there was. :D
Sorry for going somewhat off-topic, but Re:LeberMac
> I'm gonna convert a good number of MP3's to ogg tonight
I wouldn't recommend doing that. MP3 and OGG are both lossy formats, and converting from one to the other will lose the data that BOTH formats would lose, so you end up with worse quality. The best solution is to keep a lossless version (I recommend FLAC) of the audio file around, and then convert that into whatever format you need for a specific purpose (MP3 for your portable player, OGG for playing in VO, etc.). If you only have a copy of the audio in a lossy format, I'd suggest just keeping it in that format if at all possible. In the case of VO, I'd suggest turning the in-game background music volume to 0, and using an external player that can play MP3 & OGG & anything else you have.

Yep. That's the best solution.
I keep iTunes in the background with some VO-specific playlist. Some pretty good background music.
(If only it wasn't such a pain to switch from full-screen to window mode, or at least have a switch key.)
