until tomorrow (Weds). Sorry, ran into some bugs which took more time than anticipated.

Thurs ;)

No biggie. I think it's a testament to the game that no matter how many times updates get delayed, everyone still turns out in force anyway. No cynicism, just minor grumbling then support for the devs.

In short, keep up the good work!

Heh, no complaints from me. I'm stuck at work until tomorrow, anyway. Now I'll have the update at the beginning of my long weekend, rather than the last day of work.

I'm glad you guys choose not to release a patch that hasn't been well tested. VO has been COMPLETELY (I kid you not) bug free in my history of playing it, keep it up.

I wish the same could be said for Blizzard and World of Warcraft... jeez...

We have the distinct advantage over the makers of most games (and software in general) that there isn't some pointy-haired boss demanding that a deadline be met when another day or week will make all the difference to the actual users.

That's not to say that we never release code with bugs, of course. :) There's no amount of internal testing that will do the job this community does within the first hour of an update:)

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to hearing from you all as you taste the first fruits of our tool-building labors!

Just go ahead and push it to Friday 11:30 PM GMT so I can be ready to go online as soon as it's here =D.

Keep up the work!

Momerath and everyone else who works on VO, I just wanted to let you know that you should understand that a great majority of people here have some sort of programming experience(either hobbyist, professional, or perhaps just a school class where they learned a bit of QBASIC or C++) and we know completely just how much difference a tiny bit of time can do.

Even the people here who know nothing about programming most definetly prefer something great but late to something now but crappy.

Okay, that made me wince.

Eagerly looking forward to the update!

I have to agree with Apex; for the several years that I've been playing I have not once ran into a bug (client-side) that was bad enough to go "Hey... is that a bug?"

Admittedly there have been exploits and such that I've had to say "Hey, shouldn't that be um... fixed?" a few times. ^^;

I wish. But it feels more like "dozens" when I get to play.

I hope we'll get to that point though. I'd hate to see the only game I've enjoyed go Bing Crunch.

I sometimes even long for traffic jams at WHs.

the "using l-mines crashes the sector" bug was client or server-side?

Anyway, that's the only one bug I remember so far in this game.

I have a three-day weekend ahead of me, so I don't mind waiting.

*Spellcast winces*
I think that one was definitely server side, since I accidentally closed down edras I-2 with it on the busiest cargo convoy night of the week. ={

heh just to give you guys a perspective on how clean VO is. I'd like you to know what's been happening with WoW's 1.7 'content' patch...

-All owners of the Nvidia GeForce FX5200 graphics cards have suffered a 75% framerate loss, and after 3 days now, we don't even know what caused it. I was at 24fps avg, now i'm at 8fps.

-There are numerous people that cannot log into the game because the patch downloader is failing to work properly.'

-Many people are suddenly suffering massive latency issues (8,000+ms)

-A major checksum error put many of people out of the game for a couple days.

-Servers have been crashing left and right.

-(not a bug) PvP is badly inbalanced!

I look back at VO for a while, and I see that the game has never had any fatal bugs that put me out of the game for an extended period of time.

/me applauds the clean programming efforts of Guild Software*
