Twice in a few days, and this one seemed to have taken out the website, too. Stupid internet.
What happened? I tried to login for hours... nada. :-(

I can't login either , gonna reload the game and see what happens.
Same, the web is back up but i still cant get on game -_-
Game is still down, websites back up.
Game's up.
Our colo center seems to have had a nasty power failure, and none of their gigantic impressive redundant power transfer switches and redundant power grids worked, and the generator didn't kick on, because it appears the three-phase power coming into the building wasn't wired correctly by Weenergies (or it wasn't wired correctly by someone, but We Energies just corrected it now). This is very preliminary information though based on what Randy told me; they will be investigating this week.

Still giving me the "Can't find game server" box. I should probably wait for longer than one minute.
Still cant connect
er, yeah. let me start the update server.
ah shit, our cluster boxes aren't up. *runs to colo*

Huh, it wasn't a wiring problem, it was a fuse. A fuse blew when they were nowhere near capacity (they load tested to be certain) which left one of the three-phase lines at 120V while the other two were still at 227V, which then caused UPSes to go on (and proceed to then eventually run out of juice) due to dirty power but the generator stayed [off] because the power was still "on".
Garbage. Truck. A very small one inside the power line.
Did they forget to turn on "Garbage Truck Filtering?"
Just tell them to turn off the port. I've enclosed a screenie of the Mac OS X version.
(You KNOW, there should be an easter egg in the next major release with the devastating "garbage truck" weapon, JUST like the "forklift" in Escape Velocity!)

who wants a weapon that shuts the server down for an unspecified length of time. :)
How about it shuts down your opponent's systems if it hits? Imagine a giant garbage truck hurtling toward your opponent at 200 m/s!
And if you kill with a garbage truck, the sector message says:
"Spellcast takes out the trash."
Or whatever.
Nevermind.

I'd like to see someone base a ship design on a garbage truck.
