Population
So being that I'm new and haven't really met many of you just curious what the player population is for Serco, Itani and UIT. :D
I know some games have an inbalance towards one race and was curious if there's an inbalance in VO as well where more players lean towards one of the 3 races.

Well you see most ppl join the UIT cause they don't join space shooters to shoot people...
Second place is the serco.... that is till all the little sissy serco read the backstory and realize they are the bad guys.

I thought Itani would be the ones heavily favored but when I look to see who's online it seems UIT is the majority with Itani and Serco almost even.

UIT have always had the most players. In the past it has usually been Itani who have more active players than Serco. Lately it has taken a turn though and Serco have had just as many and at times more active than Itani.
serco still lacks in the player department the few of them that there are are just online more often, so...join serco! be my target today!
There's a bot called IRC that FiReMaGe setup, and along with linking the in-game chat with IRC (hence the name), FiReMaGe also uses it to make the Vendetta Active Players Graph (VAPG). You can see the VAPG here: http://mage.localnetsys.com/vapg/
Note that at the time of this posting, the VAPG was last updated on 6 Aug. 2005. So it is a little out-of-date, but you should be able to get a rough idea of the active player counts from it. The reason for it not being updated is that IRC has been offline for a while. Hopefully it won't be much longer until FiReMaGe gets it back up, and the VAPG starts updating again.

Most of the population not being fools, they choose UIT or Itani and go trade and mine.

These days the population is in flux, though, and I've seen days with more Serco than UIT on (oh, the humanity!)

in the last week VO has been played by a total of 754 characters, of these 288 were Itani, 288 were UIT and 178 were Serco. the online time per character, regardless of nation, is pretty constant. more players is therefore almost directly mappable to more activity for the nation.
there have been a bit more Itanis on lately then usual, as UIT used to come out ahead by 30-40 characters. the norm is that Itanis are almost as far from UIT numbers as Serco is from Itani. 260/220/180 seems (at a glance) to be close to the norm over time.
