Oh if y'all are looking for more information about the game check out all the player made stories and RPs. Here are a few and if you want I can go around and look for the rest.

Needless to say I highly recommend my own. :P Hehe I just had to say it. In all reality they are all very good, and if you have time and like to read/immerse your self in VO you'll really like them I know I have.

Oh and I may have some clips laying around. If any one wants I could send a sample. It's mostly me flying around a station. (I love doing that)

Another idea for an "opening scene" struck me today. What about doing an in game "fly through" of a couple different sectors of your chosen nation when you start, with narrational text or voice in the background briefly describing the history of your nation? The final cut could be gradually circling your home station before zooming in to the docking bay, and starting the game from the station...

Similar to what they did in "WoW"; you would be able to see actual players and bots flying across the different sectors in real time through the intro.

If they added that suggested "shadowing" feature or whatever it was called they could have it be from the POV of a station guard or marshal. They'd have to fix the things' habit of hiding up against roids first, but it would work.

Could use some editing work, and compressing it for the net made it ugly, my free bus was slow, my voice sounds funny, and I was adlibing so i sutter some. Other then that it pwns. :D

...that is AWESOME!

mad props Borb II

indeed...AWESOME!

I like your pronounciation of Itani (it tan* eye) as opposed to mine (E tah* knee).

(Which is it, Devs?)

also, what program(s) did you use for this, Borb?

Relayer:

Serco (SIR-ko) <-- Not "Sear" as I thought originally when I saw this. Tis "Sir" as in "...or madam" and "ko" as in "co-op".
Itani (It-ah-nee) <-- I usually put the emphasis on "tah".

I like Borb's pronounciation of "It-tan-eye"

But it is most definitely "ah-KAHN" not "AY-ken" ;p

Seriously though, great monologue.

/vote Borb as Serco intro voice

Yeah my pronunciation was a little (Lot?) off I was trying to keep with the slight accent (I normally just have a little Texan drawl) and then pronounce things right hehe.

Though I do remember saying Akans name right in the first few takes, had it coming from my thought and every thing...

But yeah glad y'all like it. :D

RR: I used Snapz Pro to capture the ingame shots, then iMovie for every thing else. How ever I'm not a fan of iMovies recording soft whare so next time I'll most likely use Audacity.

Ahh, thanks, Borb.

I like Sound Studio for my mixing (I hate iMovie for sound).

Looking at the past movies and then Borbs, I think what the ones that show more action are missing is voice. So I had an idea. What if we write up a script. I could write it just like a movie script with camera angles and such. We get a few people together and film the entire thing according to the script. Then comes the fun part. Anyone who has a microphone for their comp can help. We each pick a character from the script and record their lines. Then everyone sends their recorded lines to the editor (can be me) who then puts their recorded lines into the proper spots according to the script. Wala! A vendetta movie! We could even write the script so that it plays like an opening scene for the game.

It would be a large project if we want to do it right, but if a few people are willing to commit some real time to this then we might be able to make a pretty good product.

My vendetta video resume:

My first attempt at a vendetta video- http://www.itanialliance.com/vendetta.wmv

The text may be a bit annoying at the beginning, but it does not last throughout the whole video so don't kill it right away. I needed a filler so I could time up the music correctly and text was my best option. If we use my idea mentioned above about actual voice-overs, this would not be a problem.

This is a tribute that I put together a while ago for my fellow members of BLAK, specifically those who have left. It was never intended for public viewing, it is not supposed to be a ploy for attention, merely a tribute to a few of my friends. I made it for them. I'm putting it here now so you don't judge me solely on my first attempt at a vendetta video.

Edit: Btw, Phaserlight, I remember seeing your video before but I didn't know it was you that made it. Nice job man, it's one of my favorites.

I'm in, I love voice work.

I can do Russian, Spanish, Japanese (Not that great but passable) British (Not very good) Irish, Italian, Indian (The place with the cows and the big mountain, not the fake ones in America) and Southern (Very good hehe) accents.

Just gimme a script and I'm good to go, heh or let me make up my own hehe.

Let me know if ya need me.

I'm willing to volunteer my voice.

Every time these video discussions come up, I want to get video capture working under Linux so I can record some videos myself. And then after trying for a while I keep giving up until the next time videos start being discussed. As of now, I can video capture gameplay, but I have the following problems: I can only capture at 16-bit color depth, which means the the textures in the game look just a little bit wrong. I can also only capture audio and video seperately, which means that due to the occasional dropped frame, audio and video get out of sync. I'm rather frustrated with it all.

[edit]
Speaking of Voice Acting, who all is interested in having pre-recorded "Voice Chat" in-game? Quite a while ago I started writing a perl script with that intent in mind, but I never really finished it. If people are interested, and we can get some volunteer voice actors, I should be able to finish it without too much difficulty (hopefully, anyway). I'll go bump the thread in Community Projects about this.

I'm in... I can help with editing and storyboards, and possibly voice as needed.

We need to find some webspace to stash our clips.
