this sucks.
The lag is up way high. The bots are unkillable in buses. The prices are higher that Khral's ego. This sucks. unless things inprove you wont be seeing me again.
I haven't had any of these problems, Urza. Still, I'll try to help. Uhm, can't do anything about the lag, though it hasn't been bad for me, at least in comparsion before. I haven't found the bots unkillable at all. If you can get even one bot down before you die, you're making a profit. I suggest your first investment be an ion blaster, the rapid fireish laser thingy. Prices seem high at first beofre it takes about a half hour of trading or so (assuming there's pirates about) to really get going. Get an atlas transport and the dough just rolls in.
However, did you really expect it all to be perfect right after such a massive update? The enitre purpose of the Vendetta Test IS to playtest and tweak. It's entirely a work in progress game.

1 bot. woohoo. a 1 K/D ration. that sucks. what will teh noobs think?
Yeah, my first bot kill was entirely by chance. 2 bots in 12 were fighting, and I snuck a red lazer in at the last second. w00t! I had 70c. I bought scrap metal in 2, and now I don't know how to trade, it's in my inventory, now what? The manual isn't up to date at all.
Whine whine whine.
Well, pretty much what you usually do. Run somewhere far away and sell it :) Or ask another Red for some cash. We'll help.
There's a pretty steep learning curve right now, I'll agree. I've had no lag to speak of, and as in previous versions some sectors have tougher bots than others. Sector 8 is quite easy now. Once I got enough cash for a regenerative battery and a medium efficient engine, things went much smoother.
I don't think the flamebait was necessary.

And we cant forget how unbalanced all this crap is. there isn't a single small gun worth shi*. Devs, any chancve we can see a rebalence by tonight?
1) It's the weekend, the day after the frickin' 3.2 release.
2) It's a test. It's for them, not us.
3) I hate to say it, Sam, but Quit Yer Bitchin.
--edit--
This came off sounding harsher than it should have. Sorry :(

a few things to remember about the new interface..
1 you have to LOAD the cargo from the cargo screen after you buy it. (don't like this so much.. you should at least have a little checkbox next to the "how many" buy window to decide to load them or warehouse them. tho it is nice to be able to stockpile cargo in a station for later pickup/sale if you want to.. i assume that there is going to be a point where the prices fluctuate in the future to make this useful and meaningful, tho at that point there needs to be "rent" for leaving stuff warehoused maybe)
2 you have to EQUIP the weapons/engines/batteries from the ship screen after you buy them. (I like this to a point because it allows you to UNEQUIP them and take them with you when you buy a new ship. more cash efficient that way)
3. i happen to think the railgun is fairly effective urza. also a pair of the plasma gun thingys (whatever the second item on the buy list is) seem to be fairly good.

Overall 3.2 looks to be very cool. Thanks to the devs for all the effort. From what I can tell, they've either been very in tune with us all along, or have been listening to our gripes all along. Either way - they deserve a big round of "hoorahs".
But I agree that the "just starting out" difficulty seems to be a bit harder than before. I logged on for 20 minutes or so... couldn't kill a bot even. Asked for help (I'm gold) and didn't get any. Quit, came back later. Finally got a bot - 40c can't buy anything, so I'm still where I was. I asked for help again, but everyone was too busy being killed by someone else to bother. Like I said 3.2 *looks* great, but I haven't really played it yet, because when your stuck in a bus, it isn't much different than 3.1.15
My suggestion: give everyone a measly 100c to start. For those who are good at fighting, it's easy to toast a few bots and then trade a bit. For the more peaceful players (read: we suck) giving us a widget to start trading with would eliiminate a LOT of frustration.
my 3.2 cents :-)

ok. so, i start 1 char, give the cash to as friend, start another, do it again, till i have 10000000000000c
And in the time it takes you to do that, I've gone trading and made 1,000,000,000,000,000c!
exactly... if it's only 100c, it would be much faster to use that 100c for trading than to exploit.
