I'd settle for ill-tempered sea bass?
My input on mission editors:
Yah, when mission editors come out, there should eventually be a way to "roll your own", and sumbit the entire package to Guild for approval.
I envision a web-based series of forms allowing an "investor" account to log in, create a new mission, enter the background text, the mission event text, the failure text, the parameters, add NPC characters, etc.
This is bundled together and shunted off to the "approval" zone where someone at Guild checks the end results for signs of abuse (No, the reward CANNOT be the special 10 L-Port Centurion) and then either includes it in the next scheduled update or revises it and does so, or rejects it with reasons.
Kinda like editing your missions in EV:Nova, or creating your own levels in Warcraft, etc. Then there will be far fewer things to hate in this game.
Anyway, that's what I eventually would like to see happen. I'm sure that at least for the time being, these editors will remain firmly in the control of the developers.

I'm sorry, my post came out negative.
Devs, keep doing what your doing. I'm still gonna support you. That was a list of my thoughts for things that detract from this game. But overall? Its awesome. It has so much potential I'm willing to wait. You guys are working your asses off for us, and I appreciate it every time I click "Play Vendetta"
Thank you

"Anyway, much of the work going into the mission editor has a much broader purpose than simply adding new missions. As you can see in the screenshot, the entire editor has been implemented within the game engine. Much of the development time was spent creating the new UI system, which while currently very unattractive, has loads of configuration potential, including the ability use user-configured skins, etc. It's our intention to open up much of the UI functionality to the userbase and let people create their own HUDs, menu interfaces, or whatever.
It's also our hope in the longer run to allow people to directly access subsets of the mission editor from within the game. Possibilities including hiring users/NPCs to trade for you (even while offline), or mine for you, or defend your personal station, or perhaps even hire mercenaries to attack other players and NPCs. All of which are entirely feasable with this new development work. User-defined missions are a very old design goal for us, and one that is hopefully now drawing nearer."

Hear, Hear I agree almost totally.
I'm glad someone has said something not so positive about the game and wasn't immediately screamed at.
I agree there are a lot of positive areas/points about the game and i agree to those. But there’s a lot of negative stuff too and I'm glad someone has the "heart" to say it.
But with this intense and loyal environment, I am surprised that someone didn't come down on you.
Keep up the good work. And you have support from me in most of these issues.
JB
PS: can you list 10 again but nicer so we can see what it was?

#10 was quoted in Arolte's reply. It was definitely an unfortunate choice of words.
Ooops. I didn't realize #10 was taken down and that I had kept it quoted. I'll edit it out. Sorry.
Damn you self-censorship! Daaaammmn yoooouuu!
I'm all curious now. Bastards. :/

You don't really want to know what it was. It was just rather rudeness about (mumble).
Oh come on, it wasn't rude at all. Was there a nicer way to say it? Most certainly. Was it packed with frustration? You bet. Did Incarnate take it with a smile? I am pretty certain about that. Sometimes being a good friend means saying ugly things to your face. Don't confuse that with being rude.
I decided to speak up after I watched things not improve for a significant amount of time. I love VO as much as every other player here. That is exactly why I choose to speak up in no unclear terms.

The words look familiar, but it seems that they were clumped together by throwing darts at a specially modified dart board.
So in other words andreas.
I felt like being a jerk cus I've been around here so long. And I'm not gonna think about how it made the other guy feel because we all know he was ok with it any one saying other wise is lying cus well I've been here go ever so that makes me like god so I know.
Back to your life mortals and don't censor my posts again.

Okay, so I think we're done here.
Criticism has been received and responded to by Incarnate, which I think was the point of the thread, and now the thread is degenerating.
I kept this thread open as long as I did because I feel that the devs can accept a little more heat than the average user, but I do encourage people to be more aware of the fact that HOW one says something may obscure the message they are trying to relate.
Flaming other users is not permitted.
