I LOVE VENDETTA!

Aug 01, 2005 KixKizzle link
I just wanted to say that I love Vendetta, even though I have very little reasons why.

1) The pvp is fun once I got over the:
"I HATE FLARES CAUSE THEY R TEH SUCK!"

I mean I had all this massive skillage with lasers and now it's all wasted! I also didn't like gettin killed by noobs. Now, I have learned flares. It seems I can't use anything else though, since I want to actually win fights :( Man I miss my dual gauss Rev.

2) I find myself dreaming about different various paths that Vendetta takes:
Involving capitol ship battles with 50+ players coordinating attacks over teamspeak, with various sub-groups (FYI: Fighter Cover, Bomber Cover, Fighter Squadron, Bomber Squadron groups) Also, day dreaming about smaller corvette class capitol ships and ships just triple the size of the moth involved in all of this.

3) The Levy is sweet:
And will be so much cooler once its got the "wiggle" thing, and those asteroids go in a full 360 degrees around the thing (which blocks lots of the light around the Levy, therefore making the whole sphere of bots light up with gunfire like its fourth of July)

3) I am addicted to Vendetta's Messageboard:
It seems I must read almost every piece of fart that comes out of ppl's minds and through various mis-timed keystrokes onto this wonderful forum of noobish repetativity with .01% of new ideas. I FIT IN FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4) I feel like I'm part of something "unique" because the community is so small:
When/if this game gets big and the active players count goes above 200 at any given time, I can brag about how I was around during beta. I will be laughing at the noobs who don't know what crack botting is, who can't imagine a universe with out a Levy, who can't imagine trading actually profitable (since it will break under the strain of that many players) and finally noobs who don't realize the deadly combination of a Hog + Rail Gun Advanced, and Jack's.

So now anyone who loves distributing worthless opinions that only take up time and hardly amuse, PLEASE DISTRIBUTE YOUR FART WORTHY OPINIONS OF VENDETTA!

Seriously though, why does anyone like this game? I have like 4 reasons, YET I'M ADDICTED!

5. its fun, fun! you dont have ANY exploites in battle, (lame moves, like attacking player A who just killed B and is fighting C and is in a rag, with low hp) <--- me, when I kept getting ganged on. (I was killing tons of players, and bragging)

Um.... You know I can't really think about why I like VO.

Oh yeah!

1. I can only get roid rammers in Serco, and grey space.

They don't have any of those cool places in that other game I play called RL.

I love VO because even though I am no longer an "investor" I can still post my crap on these forums and pretend like I matter.

The single best thing about VO is the responsiveness of the developers. You may think they've been slacking, but try getting an email from the senior staff on WoW or something like that. Never happen. I think Guild Software reads half of the suggestions and roll their eyes, and the other half they try really hard to put ingame. Try calling up rockstar studios and asking the lead programmer for GTA:SA to make the Police cars slower so you can carjack them more easily, and demand to see an update within 30 days.

The next best thing is the fact that the game is based on actual SKILL and not ingame stuff. A new player can come in and be really good in mining, or trading, or PvP after gaining just a few levels. The learning curve is such that you can become halfway decent in a very short time, but it's very very hard to become the best. That's a good thing.

Lastly it's the players. The rivalries and teams and friends that you make are even more tight-knit because it IS a smaller community. If Vendetta goes prime-time I think we'll lose some of this, but not totally.

I love the feeling you get when you get 'sploded by a n00b in a prom.

I love the trash-talkers who fly around in busses and hide in stations.

I love players who suck up to the developers.

I love the attitude of superiority donned by the vets.

I love not being able to sleep at night knowing there could be a cap ship battle going on.

I love spending hours at my computer waiting for an update.

I love constantly being told that "Very large changes will be coming in the future."

I love waiting almost a year for Player-Controlled Cap-ships to come out when being told it would only take six months.

I love bumping into walls in a racetrack.

I love the naive hopefulness of the community.

I love sitting in B8 for three hours waiting for one of the 14 active players to come along.

I love forgetting to set my homestation and being blown up in Edras and returning to Sol II.

I love leaving my moth mining while I take a shower.

I love watching reasonably intelligent people wasting their lives slaving over a computer screen.

I love Vendetta!
