how do I gain faction standing when I'm hated?
Ok so I have been playing this game for a good month now and have done the Itani thing. I would like to try to get my serco reputation up and try out some of their ships(serco vult, proms) without making a new character and working skills all over again.
The only way I have found to gain xp at all is to kill bots in serco space. The problem with that is that I need to kill something like 2-3 bots per +1 serco standing.
Is there a faster way that what I'm doing, or do I simply have to tough it out?
Oh btw my standing is currently at -667. Thanks for the replies.

Killing bots in Serco space is the only way, until you get above -600. Then you can dock at Serco stations and take missions from them.
Also note that if you lose docking privileges (drop below -600 standing) with any of the non-nation factions (TPG, Axia, etc.), there is currently no really feasible way to regain docking privileges.

Hehe, once you get good at it you will only need around 2-3 hours to get those 401 faction points back from botting.
Took me about 3 days (not non-stop of course) to get my -1000 Itani standing back up to dockable levels. All because I decided to kill two stupid Strike Force ships in order to try the border patrol missions out. But it was worth it. I wouldn't have gotten the license levels I have today without it.
Botting is faster than missions. Just go to a good orun collector spot and hit em with neuts.
Some ppl use Gauss but Neuts have farther accuracy so you don't really need to move, just get near the spawn point and blast away. Also, if you want to actually level while your botting, then don't settle for oruns. I bot tycorps just cause I feel its a waste not to.
I've botted my itani standing up from -1000 twice now, and I'm gonna do it again once I get tired of the BP mission :P

Once you get above -600 with Itani/Serco you can kill the opposing nations trade NPC's in monitored space for a faction increase of around +30 per kill (well not exactly +30, but near enough)
> Botting is faster than missions.
Are you serious, Kix? We need a guide to set your & my Serco standing to -599, you bot for an hour ot two, I'll do trade missions for an hour or two, and we'll see who gained more standing.

Actually, I don't think you have to have above -600, you can kill the trader NPCs at any standing and get a standing boost from it; but if you've got below -600 standing, you'll have to be dodging Strike Force to do it. Also, if you're an Itani player trying to build Serco standing, or a Serco player trying to build Itani standing, you can't do this at all, unless you drop your standing with your home nation.

Yeah what the heck was I thinking?
Botting is dang slow.
I prefer botting anyway, cause trading is teh suck.

forgive me if this has been covered, but has there been any additions for how to fix faction status that falls below -600 with the smaller corps? Such as Ineubus, Axia, etc. Or are we still SOL?
The only possible way I know of is to get another player with bad standing with the non-nation faction into one of their sectors, and kill them. And if you're the last player with bad standing - sorry, out of luck.

Oh, and of course you'll be dodging the SF while trying to kill the other player.

Just tried killing 2 Serco NPCs at an Itani monitored WH, didnt change my standing at all. I am UIT with -841 Itani standing. Are we sure this works or is it just a myth?
Are you sure the sector was monitored? There are several WH sectors in Itani space that are not monitored. I can attest that killing Serco NPCs in Itani monitored space does raise your Itani standing.
It won't work if you are UIT.
