Automatic Removal From Guilds
The EnB guild has a few upset members on our Yahoo forum about our recent cleaning. We are working to re-invite them but please don't make me clean the guild again.
I suggest that we get an automatic removal system, where once an account is inactive for three months their characters are automatically removed from any guilds they're in. It'd save the guild from having to remove players and thus avoid incidents where someone is accidently removed and have them complain.

I feel your pain, but I must disagree. Guilds should be responsible for maintaining their own membership rolls.

I agree with Broma. What if someone has to take a break from playing? It would be unfair to give 'em an automatic boot if they have every intention of coming back.
If they are active on the Yahoo forum how did they miss the messages? I'm assuming you posted info about the guild cleaning there.
actually all we need is some game command for the commanders/lieutenants that will allow them to type a name in and find out when that player was last active.
then the guilds can police themselves quite effectively for idle players if they so choose.
the buddy command allready has this option, why not just port it over to the guild command.

The buddy command does!?
Yup. Don't you type in /<command> by itself for all the commands & memorize the help it tells you, smittens? Start with /explode & /roll, you really need to know the help for those commands.
So some people are upset. Set a time for them to be online and /invite them back. What's the big deal? If they didn't care enough to reply to the notice you sent out HERE and on your OWN boards, then they have no one to blame but themselves.
So anyway, a smaller guild with real ACTIVE members is far more effective than a guild with nothing in it but empty shells. (Like Passion's [MP] guild)

Just my opinion, and I'm not a Guild Commander & don't particularly want to be, and the people who are Guild Commanders can each make their own decision on what they want to do, but my opinion is that there's no real reason to "clean" a guild of inactive members.

Of course, very true. But, the active members of a guild are equally effective, regardless of whether or not there are any inactive members of the guild. So a guild with 10 members, all active, is much more effective than a guild with 10 members, but only 5 active - but is no more effective than a guild with 50 members, but only 10 active.
I think it's much more worthwhile to focus on the active players than the inactive.
