It has been my practice as event coordinator to announce when the prizes was going to be given out. It’s implied that prizes are only given out to people who register and right after the battle.
“The prize money will be given to the nation leaders to hand out. And listen for an announcement from Michael on where to go for the combat XP. It might be B8 or it might be the cap ships start location. Make sure you are on chan 205. All announcements will at least be made there.
The battle will end when at least 2 ships are dead. Michael will announce the end of the battle and tell everyone where to regroup.”
If Michael wants to give you the combat XP for last week that’s up to him, but I wouldn’t. Not because you didn’t participate or do a gob but because you were supposed to wait after the battle to get your prize. I want to make sure we weren’t in the position to have to determine who actually participated and who didn’t. By giving out the prize right after the battle we avoid that. And its not like everyone wasn’t warned, that’s the way we’ve been doing it since these battles started.
nuthou5e: what time did you become leader? If it was 15 seconds before the battle started the Itani nation was already disqualified.
“Serco and UIT (especially Serco) make sure you have a leader in place by 7pm GMT. Hopefully at your Cap ship’s spawning position. Since the battle will start earlier I need you to organize quickly. I will disqualify any team that doesn’t have a leader by 7:10pm GMT.”
Again this information was not hidden; it’s the same way we’ve done it for all our battles. No leader at the appointed time and everyone in that nation gets disqualified. I hoped by making that rule that every nation would organize faster. Also it makes the event coordinator’s job just a little easier. How can a players register with their nation leader before a battle if they don’t have time before the battle start?
I guess my numerous post on these message boards is not enough. If anyone has any suggestions on how to make this clearer please let me know before the next battle.
And again Michael did a great job as event coordinator. He followed the rules as precisely as I would. Thanks again!!

A nation leader has to register the participants. This means you write down a list of the player names who contact you and what role they will fill during the event.
This list can then be used to insure all players get a chance to be rewarded. You can pm any players that haven't shown up to see if they are on thier way.
In missions the computer will award you no matter where you are. However with LIVE events it is the player's responsibility to report to the GM to receive awards. This is how I run the mining events and while I will try to track down a player later, I view it as the player's task, not mine,.

One other thing. Like I said before I wasn’t there for the last battle but if a UIT did wingbug the Itani cap ship then the UIT should have been disqualified too. So in the strictest sense every one lost the battle. :)
Acually I think this is the first battle that didn’t really have a winner.
I will make the rules clearer (not sure how though) for future battles.
And I agree with Obsidian, It’s the player and nation leader’s responsibility to get together after the location is announce to receive their prize, not the event coordinator’s. During earlier battle a lot of players weren’t given any prize because they logged off or we’re in the designated sector earlier enough.
Come on guys I spents literally days on the rules to make sure everyone is on the same page. Please read them before you participate in the next battle.

You don’t need to unlock them. I’ll create a new post for the updated rules. Thanks.

The whole Itani leader confusion was from me and Apex saying to each other, "I don't know, you want to be leader?"
It was a less than organized campaign. It didn't help that I can't make every cap ship battle. I think this was my second or third time playing.
Sorry Jest.

Shame oon you Nut shame shame SHAME !!! :)
I didn't think we would ever be disqualified for not being able to pick a leader. :(
I guess its a good idea that we pick a leader in advance :)

We were disqualified because somebody wingbugged our ship. Nobody knew we were disqualified. The Serco didn't have a leader either, so :P
