The title is along the lines of "This is not a goodbye". I think that in the text he meant something like "This is only 'see you later'".
Are you sure your PC can't run VO? It's amazing what VO will run on, although it isn't as pretty when you run it on a marginal system.

Hope youar back soon with el new mac!
Oh and yeah, might want to try it out. Ven runs pretty smooth on about medium options on my g4 cube, which is only a 450mhz machine with a 16mb gfx card, I would imaging the PC world runs pretty similar. It ain't as pretty, but sure playable for hopping on for a bit.

Graig is not gone forever. In French, you say "au revoir" when you know you will meet again. Otherwise you say "adieu".
FM is Wrong. I was Able to run VO in a Kinda Sorta Pretty manner with.
Windows Minimum System Requirements:
Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP
400mhz Pentium 2 or Athlon processor
128MB of RAM
DirectX 8.1 or better
3D Hardware Accelerator - Fully DirectX 8.1 compatible 4MB Video Card
Sound Card
Keyboard/Mouse and CDROM
200MB of uncompressed harddrive space
56k internet connectivity
Thats what i was able to run with and i could dogfigt people to an Extent. The only problem was telling a Vult from a Cent. But once you get close you can see clearly. But as it is im not playing for a while until there are some diffrent ships. I already made a COOL space ship. Its an Interceptor that Even my friend likes. Even though he hates space ships.

VO can run on anything down to a 4MB video card, but don't expect the devs to work around vendetta so it works on a 4MB card.
I know you will be missed, GRAIG da One! I hope you can come back soon.
I have an old Blue & White Mac tower (Yosemite) that I would gladly mail to you if the G4 clock-chipped processor was not fried.
Stupid thing is still on my desk. It's taking up valuable space that would otherwise be occupied by stacks of papers, magazines, and various USB devices.

You see, "as" means "to the same extent or degree" or "equally". So you seem to be stating that Vendetta is equally pretty when run on a marginal system as it is on a robust system. That's not true, and I'm not wrong.
But again, it's an amazing feat that the game can run on some pretty antiquated systems. I can see not wanting to play if you don't wish to tolerate performance below what you are used to, but otherwise I bet you can tweak your PC enough to make Vendetta go, GRAIG.

LeberMac: go to http://www.macsales.com/ and check out the processor upgrades. I've got a 7500 with a 1Ghtz G4 that rivals my 1Ghtz iMac.
Hehe Thanks, RelayeR, but I think part of the motherboard is fried as well. The 500MHz G4 chip I had put in (in place of the normal 300 MHz G3 chip that came with the machine) was just not MEANT to be overclocked to run at 900MHz. And it was stupid to leave it on overnight.
Dead Mac in the morning. Of course, it COULD be fixed I suppose, but it's cheaper to buy a Mac Mini.
Which is my recommendation for GRAIG: Mac Mini! $700 USD or so...

No one ever argue with FM, you'll lose.
no just pick the topics you are sure he doesn't know anyhting about ;)
Holy... Pirate_noob. That's almost exactly my old PC set up. I have a mirror door G4 and VO runs awesome on that. But my PC that i'm just about to rebuild is an AMD K62 400Mhz, 196MB RAM, 4 MB video card. I'll have to give it a shot with VO before i rip it apart. I'll try and rember to post my results.
My new PC will kick but... Athlon 64 +2800, 1600Mhz fsb, 512MB RAM and 256MB Geforce 6200 BFG. I *know* that VO will run better on that than my mac. Just 1 more part to get.

*Cough* "What do you want more?" Really. Not everybody is a functional minimalist.
While many PC's are indeed less expensive in the beginning, most people who purchase Mac's don't purchase them just for their functionality. In my case, I purchased mine just as much for the online Mac community culture and for the aesthetic value as for the hardware. Not to mention the fact that I like UNIX and artsy fellow users and am tired of Windows bugs, but don't particularly care for the often geeky elitist culture of Linux-land.
[/rant]
Besides, a Mac mini is competitively priced.

That's what I would have done, too, given your circumstances. There's a lot of value to owning a Mac besides just what's under the hood. And many Mac users like the extra reliability of what's under the hood, too.
... just my 2 cents.
