How come UIT keeps getting shafted?

Actually, I would agree with you, that that should be possible, but IMO it's WAY too easy right now. What I suggested would still allow people to get good standing with both Itani & Serco (UIT players especially would be able to get both), but it would not be easy. Which is how I think it should be.

yeah true, it is too easy, even though, it takes a long time. but im saying that the + standing for one nation while - standing for another one can get a bit too tedious. say if your itani, trying to get a good serco standing, and you get to a point where you like, then you realize that your standing with itani has been lowered significantly, and you want to bring it back up to get the benefits, but as you do that, your serco standing gets lowered again and you would be right back where you started : \

No, you wouldn't be back were you started. It'd be one step back for every three steps forward. Yeah, it does make it take longer, but it is still possible. And as it is now, it does not take very long to bring a faction's standing from -1000 to +900, I know players who've done it in a few hours. IMO it should take significantly longer than that.

no, the UITS need to be able to pick if they want to join in BP, pick sides and such. itani and Serco can BOTH easly get good with anyone. kill a few bots, then bulk trade (those can give most of the time 350+ rep)

we just need roleplaying folks. stop beating around the bush.

I would like to point out that its isnt *a couple of bots* to fix a -690 standing, its near 200 bots (1 bot <> 0.75 standing point), and while I am to be capable of bringing this up within a few hours, I doubt many players could.

200 bots in a few hours can be done by virtually everybody. You just need to slaugther collector bots.

Doesn't the standing increase depend on the bot?
Jun 15, 2005 Beolach link
Yes, but most players can churn through collector bots fast enough that over time they're effectivly worth as much or more faction compared to the more difficult bots. Unless of course you can kill the more difficult bots just as fast as you can kill collectors.

I personally don't find any big disadvantage to being UIT right now, nor wish for the "perks" Itani and Serco get. I'd like more content, but I can wait for the devs to finish the mission editor.

I chose UIT specifically to stay out of the war, so it doesn't really bother me that UIT can't join it and reap the benefits.

honestly, i would like to see itani and serco standing balance each other (itani-serco=0) only for itani and serco characters. that way the advantage a UIT has is beign able to buy itani and serco equipment.

Additionaly i think there should be a UIT boarder patrole mission where the UIT defend their boarder from gung-ho serco who are trying to get to the back door of itani space (there was inplication of this in the backstory) Similarlly the other boarder could be defended against the order of Akan.

If there were a CTC equivalent for UIT it should be between the warring factions within the UIT. (Maybe TPG is secretly hirirng pirates to capture Axia supply convoys)

If the serco and itani had to fight each other more often, UIT would gain a real advantage in trade. right now, everyone trades. What else does a high combat pilot do in spare time? Once the job roles flesh out, each will have distinct benefits, especially once crafting comes about.

True that we don't have war and weapon perks, but it's unfair that we don't really have any other perks. Although UIT SPACE does have the most variants, we have to work just as hard as the other nations have to for those ships. There actually ARE a few trading perks, but unless you've really traversed the universe or are TGFT, you wouldn't know about them. However, one perk I would request, is that xith ore be fundamental to most of the crafting.

Our own real ships can't do much in terms of defense. the TD is hardly a defender. the orion hornet can slightly do its job, if you've seen my flare spamming abilities. Those centurions sure love to stand back from those.

UIT in good standings can't do the BP missions but that's not where the shaft is. Fact is that they shouldn't join in the BP missions. They're neutral.

But UIT is being shafted because while the BP, CtC is going on, UIT can profit from selling/buying to both sides. And here's the shaft: there's still nothing to do with the money. A well heeled UIT trader should be able to spend a mill or so to call out a posse or strike force or some sort of attack bot to come to his/her aid. Right now, the reward of accumulating cash isn't adequately reflected ingame.

Hired NPC escorts? Now this I like! Sounds a bit like EV Nova.

Everyone always says there's nothing to do with money and it's too easy to earn. Besides gaining levels, I think earning money is the hardest and most tedious part of the game. I'm always poor, and that's just from buying my ships.
