You need to sort this out devs, I thought guides were there to moderate gameplay, not do as they wish.

And how about a total unknown player, who is on my online graph for 2 days, coming at me in a prom, as an Itani and claming my bounty ?

I disagree that guides aren't needed right now. I think that perhaps I do my job so discretely that you just don't know that I'm taking care of business.

I'm pretty sure that everything is logged. If there's a problem, point the devs to the time and they'll bring up the logs. There is no need for this to be here out in the public...

Correct, all guide activities are logged, and the log is able to email itself to the development team. If ever you have a concern, simply email John/Incarnate:

john@guildsoftware.com

with specifics (who, when, what). You may also contact me in-game as Sherpa. I'm usually on at night (PST).

Not to add to the flames or anything but I witnessed the person in question within one of the neutral sectors. Admittedly I hailed him jokingly and he didn't exactly fire at me, but it was kind of suspicious to see a promy chase me around and coming from a character who has only been on for so short. I received no response from this person either, so I don't know what the deal is. Anyway, that's all.

yodaofborg was finally nabbed today in Bractus B-14 by Fehdman Kassad, who claimed a reward of 584000 credits for his efforts.

I assume that's what you're talking about? I see no evidence whatsoever that this person didn't legitimately gain their licenses; he has been botting furiously on and off for the last month. It's an alt of a relatively well-known player.

I don't know who has a bounty and is devwarping to avoid it though.

I've been online quite frequently over the last month and I have never seen anyone named Fehdman Kassad until last night. I don't know what that proves, probably nothing.

I am fully against this "Guide Leveling" for any reason. That's BS. I suppose that the devs could just look to see who has given out XP awards. That would prove the case one way or another very quickly.

I certainly cannot argue with a1k0n and his logs, but I also agree with LeberMac
as well. For the last month I have been doing trade missions and have been in
most sectors/systems almost every night for the past month. I have seen this
"Fehdman Kassad" only in the last few days. He took a few shots at one of my
characters a couple of nights ago. No harm done though....

[Edit] I should add that I have NOT seen any evidence of Guides "leveling" or using
"DevWarp" or otherwise using their "powers" improperly.

Fehdman Kassad PK'd Broma-Ba Slick something like two months ago. He remembers it well.

I'm not sure what y'all mean by guide leveling. Guides have been awarding xp for participating in RP events. I've never received more xp than I could have earned doing something else. I wouldn't call it leveling. Is there something more than that going on?

whomever this "alt of a wellknown player" is prolly had this alt being built for a while, and just never brought him out in the open till recently.

Fairynuff, but with the entire border patrol guild being leveled automagically, you cant say it has never happened before, I suppose a player who has slowly leveled there alt an hour at a time over months would have easily been missed by myself, and lots of other players.

Sorry Relayer, I attacked you as UPN about 2 weeks ago in Sedina B8 (You were figthing [syn]n00b, I blew him up, you tried to swarm me, and i shot you up), I dont see a worm hole from there to Sol II H-13 (If your within 1000m it tells us where you warp to) while I cant confirm this happened yesterday, it wouldnt be the first time, another good example would be me killing Edrad for sitting still in Sedina b8, then him automagically finding me at a station, and killing me as I dock.

My comment about guides not being needed was actually a little short sorry, you all are needeed, and the game wouldnt be the same without you, now can one of you kindly lock this thread ?

Just to clarify:

I did alter the factions of the Border Patrol Dispatcher as an experiment in role playing. I vaguely recall trashing factions, though I might have elevated a few in keeping with the character. I don't recall increasing levels, though I may have. It was an experiment, as I said, and I think a sucessful one in that there was much role-play happening with that character. I think that my decision was a good one. I did not level an entire guild.

If I devwarped to Sol, it was to help a n00b...not to avoid you. [syn]n00b was being played with by me. I had no intention of killing him and taking the hit. I don't recall you attacking me or me attacking you on that occassion. If your intent was to engage me and I devwarped to do something else, my appologies.
