Update?
I hear this game gets updated often.
What's the status of the next update?
It seems like the last one was about a month ago. Or at least that's what the news suggests.

It used to be updated more. But the updates when they are released tend to be more intense now. I am hoping the coming update will include this. http://design.vendetta-online.com/wiki/index.php?title=Hive
You can bet since it's been taking so long. SOMETHING is coming.

In addition to the hive stuff supposedly smaller player controlled cap ships are coming.
And something I've been thinking about FOREVER. And I mean since I first was making my character, and found out that the Itani and Serco were at war and I tried to home in a border system where I could invade enemy territory. I was soon disapointed to find out that that kinda thing didn't happen in this game. But correct me if I'm wrong, but a capturable system or two would be RELATIVELY easy to implement, and add a lot to the currently inexistant war.
that has been brought up before, and its a cool idea, but I don't think its very simple to implement... I think the sectors are hardcoded somehow, I could be wrong, I could be very wrong. I imagine that implementing that would require at least a revamp of their sector implementation
Capture-able system being easy to do, wrong, but, there there is a capture-able system in the works, or so they say. Don't expect everything to come out at once, I'm sure there will be a bug on release night that will completely break something and it has to be pushed back.
It is also conceivable that many updates have been issued... just not to the client-side of the game. Guild doesn't _have_ to inform us of server updates :)
Oh and Lemming, don't jinx the next update!!! Sheesh! :) Have faith in the developers. I do :)

Experience is faith's greatest enemy...
They'll come out with the update, but bugs are a fact of life no matter what software you're developing. It's little wonder the devs run into them whenever new stuff comes out.

Kihjin, I have faith, but I'm just being realistic! The cap ship first had to be pushed back because it had this great idea to dock, then it crashed the sector it was in. In alpha, 3.3 worked perfectly on their server, then crashed horribly every minute when it was released.
But we can hope!
But we can hope!
I think the devs are waiting t'ill some point t'ill its all up and tested and then they will add it all at once (at least I hope).
If we have to wait a month for an update it will be surely worth it. As I dont think they would have done nothing during those weeks. Something big IS comming.

heh patches tend to come in spurts...
all through the development back into alpha, it works like this..
1- (start of cycle) Major new feature added to the game.
2- (next 2-3 weeks, usually at about 2-3 patches a week)lots of small bugfix patches to fix the small [or large] problems the new feature caused
3- (~2 weeks each) several minor features are added that are dependent on the main feature
4- (1 to 3 days following each minor feature) more small patches to correct any problems in the minor features
5- (1 to 2 months) fairly long delay while the next major feature is coded and tested in-house by our devs.
6- return to step 1
we are currently in step #5
