I have played this for 2 day's now (i'm a noobler) but I haven't noticed very many people in the game. I was wondering if there was going to be any type of advertising happening with this game. If they were ever going to get with the people at MMORPG.com or something. This could use a lot more people
I understand that this is a MMOG bt tonight there were a total of 20 people online. That's kinda, uh reallly low for a MMOG and I'm worried that it could be canceled due to not enough income.
I'm also worried about paying 10bucks a month for this game when I can play Freelancer for free with 30 people online.
This is only a concern I have and would love some feedback. Thanks in advance.

Well, it IS after midnight in most parts of the US, so the census does tend to drop off. We've been in the 60's during planned events recently, so it does pick up.
As for advertising, Guild is keeping things kind of quiet as they drop in more content. Vendetta is great fun, and has many devoted fans, but it isn't a polished product yet. There is much to be added before it appeals to the masses. Advertising now would be a waste of money, frankly.
As for being cancelled, not likely. I have been playing for 3 years as of next month. We didn't even begin paying to play until November of last year. Guild is able to keep the server going on a shoestring. What we're actually paying for is the continued fast-track development the game is currently enjoying. Those of us who have been around awhile actually requested that we be allowed to pay in order for the development team to dedicate their time to Vendetta without having to run off to a "real" job.

If it's still in that phase then why is it in stores and pay to play right now. (i'm not trying to be a kicker here i'm just curious) It seems to still be in an open beta stage and usually open betas are free :). MMOGs usually have thousands of players. There is much talk of this game running so great but I think that's because there hasn't been more than 60 people. What happends to your server when you get 1000 people online at once?
Sorry, I amended my post while you were replying. Part of the answer is above. The short answer is that Guild Software is a tiny company running a very different business model, mostly because the big software houses have not interest in a space-genre MMORPG. In order for them to complete it, it was necessary to release the game and institute pay-to-play. *I* do have an interest in this sort of project, so I'm content to pay and watch the features roll in. Others may not feel as I do and are free not to play.
The server software is scaleable. Guild can simply bring another server online to handle more players. It actually doesn't take much of a system to run the thing.
See here for an idea of when people tend to be on in greater numbers: http://mage.net.tc/vapg/

Ok well I'm from a few places on the net and if the people that I mentioned this game to are interested, I could easily pull in another 30 people in game. Hopefully there interest will be held on to during the first part of the game and thanks for your time.
(I will be playing after I wake up tomarrow I absoulutly love this game and still debating on the paytoplay so far but things are looking up)

Cool. Please use your whole 8 hours and also take time to read through some of the forums before you open your wallet. If you do bring more people (which would be great) make sure they know this IS a work in progress. I'd love to see more people trickle in, but I don't want people being disappointed.
It handled five hundred people on at once just fine...
