Considering the recent capital ship wars, whats the best heavy bomber platform

What I say is have a system where people can buy various stuff for the next capship battle (say a "donate to capship" button in the "Ship" tab). It would make things alot more interesting, and would also let you help out with the battle without having to be there for the whole time. Then the people at the turrets could select form the items bought...

stockpile the capship with weapons? I'm all for that... would be quite interesting :) to see the frig using a variety of weapons...

You could dock with a loaded rag, unequip all your weapons, and sprint out for more equipment. The capships already have very nice turrets, so stocking a frig might not create too much of an imbalance.

sure, booms are nice, but in combat, it sometimes sucks to re-load. try a guass mk III rag, loaded with 3x guass 2x plasma devs dealing out around 10,000 dmg per shot, it never runs out, so in the long run, you deal more dmg :)

type: total yeild : full unload in seconds
sunflare: 24,000 : 16
gemini: 17,100 : 13.5
screamer: 48,000 : 11.2
chaos: 34,000 : 7.5

sun rag: 168,000
sun tar: 120,000
sun horn: 96,000
chaos rag: 119,300
choas tar: 85,000
screaming behomith: 96,000

fast charge battery + Plama Cannon HX(x2) = 206,250 per minute.
fast charge battery + nuetronII = 163,000+ per minute.

Q: how fast can you reload.

Q: how long can you keep hanging shooting the capship without getting shot.

Especially in the case of the sercos who are on all times with less online.

you tell me. I'm a newbie and havn't done much cap hunting, but one time I found a serco cap unattended and took out its two rear turrents and sat there like a pimple on it's b..

I was just throwing the numbers out for fun. food for thought and all that.

I imagine all these platforms (and more) have thier time and place. ok, ok, I threw in the screaming behomith for giggles, but hey, it does have great armor. With the right loadout, I bet a behomith could take a cap 1v1. But then again, looks like a stock EC-88 could too.

I'd love to see all projectiles with a payload rockets and missiles
be targettable by weps.

It would mean that bombers would have to get REALLY close to deliver a payload, and that would make it fun.

EDIT:
oh, and TRS, you left out jackhammer rockets, those unload MUCH faster than screamers.

the jackhammer+flare rag (MGC) does all of its damage obscenely fast.

yea. Same here. I hate watching rockets heading for my turret and not being able to do anything about it.

Bombers would have to get really close, or would have to shoot LOTS of missiles to overwhelm the defenses.

The limiting factor in dropping your load seams to be your selection of small port weaps.

Note: you can drop your 12 jacks in 6 seconds for 24k, or half your screamers in 5.6 for 24k. you must like to reload. ;)

Yeah :) But you can unload ALL your rockets without breaking out of turbo if you use jacks. Screamers you're probably only going to be able to unload 2 (because they use a fair amount of energy).

Curious, I'm not really in the habit of rapid unloading screamers so I have not noticed their energy usage. In fact, I havn't noticed the energy usage of any conventional weaps. Be nice if the wiki listed the usages.

I'm also wondering if the stingrays should be under consideration. Do they fire two at a time like the geminis?
