Customizing Colors for Ships Already Purchased
Recently, I noticed that although it is possible to choose colors for ships at the time of purchase, it is not possible to do this after they have been purchased.
This limitation seems unnecessarily inconvenient. If I can choose a color at the time of purchase, why can't I simply change it afterwards?
Now I'm forced to unequip the ships, sell each of them, purchase each of them again, and then choose a different color at each time of purchase just in order to customize the ship colors. This is extremely tedious.
Also, the color palette scheme for setting the ship colors is confusing. The boxes for the colors are too small to see well, and because the there is no way to stop the ships' visual representations to the right of the descriptions from rotating, it is very hard to see the colors on the ships well.
It would help if we could have, say, some basic colors to choose from at first, and an additional circular pallette for finer customization. I would suggest two variations of each standard color. The following ones come to mind:
Aqua (Itani default color) | Lapis Lazuli
Gold (UIT default color) | Orange
Red (Serco default color) | Burgundy
Forest Green | Jade
Mauve | Indigo
Crimson | Pink
It would also help if we could have a "Default Color" button in case we wished to revert to the original color after trying out various variations.
It would also help tremendously if we could stop the ships' visual representations from rotating while setting delicate variations. As is, it is almost impossible to compare fine color adjustments because of the motion, and this takes out all the fun from precisely customizing the ship colors, a process which now is a painful headache. It shouldn't be.

After thinking about the basic color variations, I have decided to make the following adjustments:
Crimson (Serco default color) | Burgundy
Scarlet | Pink
"Red" just sounds too plain. Actually, though, Serco red is between burgundy (a reddish purple) and crimson (a deep purplish red). "Tomato" seems more precise; but assigning "tomato" to the Serco red just sounds silly.

yes. Maybe a gtk triangle color selector? Those look purty.
On the other hand, let's say you buy a car, then decide you don't like the color. If you don't want to sell it, you need to get it repainted (which costs extra).
I'm in favor of HSB sliders with a Default Nation Color button.
Tyrdium - Repainting costing a few credits would be nice, actually.

resprays seem an option, but you've gotta pay...
rather be part of the "Red Army" than the "Tomato Army" though...
