A couple HUD mods
Concerning exp and levelling...
As it is, its quite tedious to keep having to pull up the charinfo screen when you want to know how much exp you've collected. And exp details clog up the mission chat tab...
My suggestion is to put a small bar-graph-like progress indicator somewhere on the HUD to show your rough progress towards the next level in whatever skills, and have the experience points flash up like the "Press activate key to dock" message- temporary and immediately visible.

Aye, I suggested this too on my 'Ship interface suggestion' thread, would be a nice thing to have, afterall, not all of us are craved pvp'ers in the game :-)
Maybe if we could have a couple HUD display modes. Say, one mode for combat - lots of target info, radar, weapons, etc. but overall clean for good visibility.
Then another for non-combat situations - and put everything possible on the HUD, exp, cargo, chat, etc. Then make it easy to switch between modes.
Also, could the elements of the HUD be movable? Maybe you want your radar top-middle, and chat bars at the bottom, for example.. Then have a way to select which HUD modes the different elements show up in.. I wonder how well that would work.

The dev's plan early on was to have a modular HUD that could be user-configurable. I'm sure it won't happen in time for the release, but it is something that they have expressed interest in.
