Honestly, I think we need to stop fiddling with the top-tier ships and fix the mid-tier stuff that's been badly gimped for years.
A few good examples of ships that suck, but really shouldn't considering their cost, license, or standing requirements:
Vulture MkIV - High turbo drain makes the MkIII which costs half as much a better choice in almost all scenarios.
Warthog MkIV - Tiny (+500) armor increase doesn't offset its worse handling and higher turbo drain from the MkIII, which again costs less for being a better ship.
Hornet MkIII - Horribly weak engine for a ship with a high as-loaded mass. Again, higher turbo drain than the MkII makes it less useful despite costing more.
All of the Marauders - These are premium-only (except Tung) ships with high license requirements, yet their stats don't offer any real advantage over the Centaur line, which can be bought at Trade 4. Just about the only one that doesn't need improving is the Corvus model. Even the Valent Marauder Rev.B, which has the highest license requirement of any ship in the game, sucks.
BioCom Vulture XT - Every argument made for all the buffs the SVG got over the last few years also apply here, yet it's received none of the buffs, even adjusted for the fact that it's a cheaper UIT knockoff.
Tunguska Centaur Aggresso - This is the only heavy ship that even comes close to the category the SCP alone occupies as a heavy, agile fighter. It's still quite a ways off, despite being expensive, only available at two stations, and requiring extremely high standing.
