this game sucks
this game seriously sucks
So I play for like 10 hours, earn some stuff, finally get a good ship
I get blown up one time... once... and lose every single thing I earned
Not a bad concept. Execution almost as bad as the US elections.
suuuuucks

Shoulda paid.
Err, 10 hours and one ship lost everything? That seems... off.
You die a lot in this game...

Yeah, there's an obvious progression at work. The missions you get after leveling up to 2 in a few things challenge you to buy better ships and weapons, but a single mistake will have you mining 500 credits every 15 minutes - outside the starting port - in the starter ship.
The game obviously wants you to upgrade (it gives you plenty of credits from the newbie missions to do so long before you earn the ranks to buy the next tier) and even TELLS you to do so several times - but dying after doing so means you have NOTHING and no way to get it back without investing a dozen boring hours with little further progression.
Death at the wrong time as a new player can very easily leave you with N O T H I N G and the game gives you no clear path to get back where you were after pimp slapping away everything you earned.
While the game is decently put together, and has good graphics for what it is, it is completely cruel and absolutely unforgiving to new players. I TRIED HARD to like this game. I read every single last tutorial (which takes hours) and desperately tried to get involved (even if I am a chat troll as well) but the game took everything from me for making the extremely easy to make mistake of... what? not noticing the forward section of my ship was red?
This could be fun but the game tries to be 'challenging' like EVE without giving you any reason to want to build back up - and no clear path to do so.
That = S U C K S
There is NO REASON AT ALL that death needs to mean that you lose your ship and weapons. This game tries to hard to be EVE with a different engine that it very quickly alienates new players.
My "suggestion" is that death not take your ship away - because there is NO REASON WHATSOEVER for this to be the way that the game works.
Free to play by December. Wait for it.

Well, it won't be free to play, it's been around 10 years, and I think they've reached a kind of equilibrium.
Things to consider though:
A) there's always a free ship, and missions that you can use the free ship with.
B) If you get a bit of trading under your belt (And you're not homed in grey space), you can make more than enough to afford whatever you want.
C) Ask for help! Most players on here are willing to give advice (And often funds) to get you back on your feet.
Above all, chill out, and you'll have a good time.

1 - So you died. Stop whining. It happens a lot, and to all of us. If you don't want to die, go play Hello Kitty Online.
2 - You should have stayed out of grey space until you were ready. You did something stupid and paid the price. If you can't handle that, go play Hello Kitty Online.
3 - This game has been going strong for 10 years just the way it is.
4 - 10 hours and only one ship? It's not that the game is too hard, it's just that you suck. If you can't handle that, go play Hello Kitty Online.
5 - You know what, just go ahead and go play Hello Kitty Online.

You're the same guy who was in chat last night trying to troll 100 in various ways. Money is piss easy to make and ships are ridiculously cheap compared to how much money players acquire. The only thing you lose when you die is the ship you were in and its cargo (which you can pick up again if you're fast enough).
seriously guys
That's a good place to end it then.
