I know this has been requested numerous times. However, it is still a nuisance when you auto target your cap ship or its turret as 'nearest enemy' because you bumped it trying to dock. Its not a total buzz killer, but it simply should not happen. k thx.

It was supposed to be fixed a long ago, regarding IFF.
Maybe a more radical approach, make shields "soften" bump damage, thus resulting in no damage under moderate speed.

This is a confirmed bug. It was fixed back in Mar 19, 2010 update.

Better if remove damage against shields... but that IFF fix was good enough.
