Ship thrusters
Dont know if this has any merit to it or how hoard it would be to do... but, I've always felt the white hot flames/plasma/what ever produced by a ship should cause damage to any ship it touches.
That might be neat. Add turbulance to it, too. I imagine getting behind something like a connie would hurt badly and send you flying.
+1 to Nahin's idea.
+1 to cool eye candy when settings are up high. :)
You'd figure engine wash would cause some damage, considering ship explosions do.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
Make mining beams do damage first.
Otherwise, +1

+1 to damage, +1 to turbulence :)
Fluffy... I've always felt that mining beams ought to rip a ships hull a part.
Maybe ship hulls are just more or less immune to mining beams. After all, the beams are tuned to be used on asteroids, which have a very different composition than that of a hull. The metals are going to be bonded differently, the proportions of various elements will be radically different, etc. For that matter, people might intentionally put some kind of protective coating on their hulls that renders extraction beams less effective, as a safeguard against people trying to retool a mining beam into a weapon (there's a war on, after all, so people are going to be taking precautions).
But I do agree that it would be nice if they at least did some damage.
On topic: +1. That would make trying to hide between the engine nacelles of a connie a bit more interesting.
