Allow capship commander to target all turrets with minimum targetting
As in the title.
Obviously, the only explanation of not allowing ship's commander to target all turrets on his own (without having a gunner) is balancement purposes.
It is highly illogical and improbable than in times when computers are far more advanced than they're now, something like this wouldn't be possible.
I propose that ship's pilot should be able to command all unmanned turrets with lower-than-normal precision and automatic targetting.
Also, the same should apply to 3-turreted moths and all non-capships. All turrets should be operated by pilot, with lower than normal targetting abilities (for balancement purposes).
----
EDIT:
This would also give people piloting moths & other large ships a bigger fighting chance against pirates, which they sureley don't have now.

It is possible, with today's technology, to enable a single man to operate a MBT. Instead, they have commander, driver, gunner and loader... there are tactical and strategical reasons for that.
Another drawback is the broken IFF system, confuses AI.
Instead, the capship owner should be able to leave pilot seat and use any turret as gunner.

OK, agreed. But it still is possible.
So why not make it possible here, exactly as in real life.

I don't know anything about it. Can You explain ?

+1. I could understand limiting this to capships for balance. If used in all ships, do think that it should have a longer delay to switch between cockpit and turret than it takes to switch between turrets, to provide additional discouragement against the pilot using turrets (and therefor more encouragement for him to pick up gunners).

Ok, so can anybody explain to me what "broken IFF system, confuses AI" means ?
Yeah, i really don't know.
Yeah, i really don't know.
Well, you see... the AI gets confused because the IFF is broken, which in turn causes the AI to get FUBAR'd, which is actually SNAFU as far as VO is concerned. So this idea clearly gets filed under ID 10 T.
Hope that clears it up for you.

@Paladin:
IFF only knows about nations/factions, and nothing about guilds or careers.
You know VO enough to have felt and understand its consequences.
Imagine you just created a Serco alt. Or a newbie did. Who should he fear and avoid, a Serco in [CHRN] or a Itani in [EMS]?

Definitely the EMS. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
