Mines should be targetable
The NPCs have an advantage as they can target mines easily.
yes
I don't know... I think that would make mines way to easy to avoid...

for me they should be invisible to radar...

The NPCs can neutralize them in seconds... it's somewhat insane that we don't have that same capability.
As for mines being avoidable: if they are avoidable because they are targetable, then you aren't using them correctly.

Since they're already giant yellow dots on radar, being able to target them won't make them any easier to avoid.
I'd like to add that missiles and rockets should also be targetable, and destroyable with energy or other rockets/missiles.

Agreed, but make your own thread. The OP is hopefully a simple fix.

Mines should be targetable again.*

god its not like you can't aim at them and fire.
i bet this is because i was defending i-8 with lmines and they had trouble killing them.

I've never had any trouble destroying mines.

Speak for yourself. I think I'm within my rights to say I generally have a pretty significant advantage over NPC's.

That's what made me realize they need to be targetable. I tried to counter your mines with my own, but the NPCs would destroy them instantly. Not like this suggestion wouldn't aid your attacks on the station either... no one gets hurt by this. (moreover, it's not like I didn't destroy them anyways)

Oy. Let me rephrase... players who are NPC-aided have an advantage due to NPCs ability to quickly destroy mines. However, it's insane that the NPCs can do it so easily when it requires semi-blind fire for players.
I've never had any trouble destroying mines.
Good for you. I can destroy them as well. Can you explain why that means they should not be targetable?
Edit: and if you really think it'll make mines less useful... than just up their hp a bit more and problem solved.

This shouldn't even be a debate. Mines are an object in space. It's completely absurd that they can't be targeted, especially since we can target EVERYTHING ELSE and MINES APPEAR ON RADAR!
"it requires semi-blind fire for players."
Yeah... its not like I put the blue dot at the center of my cross hairs and fire at a visible target, oh... hold on, actually its exactly like that.
"Can you explain why that means they should not be targetable?"
Sure, I'll take a bash at it...
1. They have no transponder signature to lock onto.
2. They do not produce a heat signature.
3. They do not have enough mass for a target lock.
4. They are designed with an anti targeting system.
5. Insert one of many other reasons here.

So I'll say it again:

They are stationary objects. Therefore, they are targetable. God help me, but I'm 100% with Impavid here.

No worries Atice, I am god.
I believe that there is a lua command to target any object in front of you, including missiles. However, energy still does not kill missiles.
