Gatling turret
About turrets requiring gunners, not the Lport weapon gatling turret.
I love convoy, war history, strategy and tatics...
Remembering wartime convoys and comparing its evolution, the gauss2 turrets are like heavy cannons, more anti-ship like, on anti-sub.
We need an anti-aircraft equivalent for space.
Seems a gatling turret would be a logical evolution. Trade big damage for rate of fire.
Better suited against a vulture or valk due its high rate of fire.
Great visual, the arch of flying "pellets".
Since the piracy-oriented side of VO's universe dominate the forum, they wont like it. But for every trader its a good improvement, would make convoys defense more effective. (and pretty), and give rats someting to worry about when attacking a drone moth convoy... (defender moth?)
What is the point on making convoys when a single rat can obliterate anything below a capship within a single sector?

By the way, change the NAME of L-port gatling turret to something else, as "wide-angle gatling cannon" or "improved gatling cannon"

you don't really read do you I have been all for making the gat turret a turret weapon only for the longest time.
I couldn't care less if traders have a different flavor of turret. Nobody wants to work as a gunner anyway, and the things aren't exactly a major challenge to avoid.
Lelector, go back to cave.
peytros, your credit! Plz link to your posts, I'm lazy now, real world calling!

I just agreed with your suggestion, you illiterate snot.

I am still in favor of making an Alloh-only forum where he can spew random alphanumeric characters to his heart's content without it clogging up the suggestions forum for the rest of us.
And yes, as has been discussed several times before, gatling cannons should be a turret weapon.

spew random alphanumeric characters
Even randomness may be able to do better ;-) see SCIgen for an impressive example. Anybody who has ever had to deal with consultants (especially from the "high"-end firms) will have a hard time telling this stuff apart from the crap the spew. Well, parts of it, at least.
Hmmm... I hereby propose a variation of the Turing Test - let's say, the "Turing Test for the Consultant's Trade".
Turing Test for the Consultant's Trade:
Let A be a computer program, and B be a consultant, both interacting with an interrogator C via a text terminal. If C, after a series of queries and responses, is unable to correctly determine which of his dialog partners is which, then the computer program can be considered sophisticated enough to pursue a "career" in consulting.

Ha! I'm more published than "A. UIT"!
I've got to hand it to you WT/Imp, that made more sense than the average Alloh post.
P.S. - I challenge Whistler to venture on to chrn forum where he isn't the only one with the ability to sneakily edit other people's posts.
