Hi,
What if, after a few piracy acts and corresponding faction loss, the pirates are BANNED from their original nations?
So, his name color becomes (PINK|other) on chat/radar. He's no longer a serco/itani/uit, but a rogue pilot without citizenship??
His faction standings with each faction determines where he is welcome or not, so no change on this;
From a practical side, this is equal creating a 4th "nation" that no one starts at, but any (pirate/traitor/hated by his own native nation) pilot can be "degraded".
Maybe make possible to regain his native faction trust and citizenship?

Alloh, do check out some of the Nation Redux RFC (rfc = request for comment) that Incarnate has made in the past. They do reference an Unaligned status, and his idea is similar to yours.

-One optional mission to negate your nation
-KOS/Hated by your own nation results in ban
-Maybe a "Appeals Court" where "killed" players can complain, and once "N" valid complains are posted, "badguy" gets banned.

The only real visible differences are
-Pariahs names appear on different color on chats
-They appears red on radar for all nation's pilots

That could lead to Privateers, pirates that respect their own nation ships, maybe as a long term mission, as a Letter of Marque, which could be issued only by itani/serco. During that mission they becomes "temporary pariahs" for other nations. Privateering cannot be made on your own nation space, and never against your nation ships (including convoys and bots).

Alloh: Nothing you are suggesting is even remotely original. We've had this entire conversation before, more times than you can count. Not only that, but as Lecter rightly points out, your particular implementation of this idea doesn't even make sense. You have no idea what you want, beyond making people you don't like KOS with their own nation. Kindly stop talking so some useful ideas can be "evolved" on this forum.

In the full faction redux unaligned members (who are the people you are talking about) will show up like momerath42 does (grey, not yellow, blue or red) in chat. Your proposal is a bit of a stopgap between now and then, but given the cool things that have been added recently, I'd say we're getting closer and closer to the faction redux actually happening, at which point this fix will be rendered moot.

Guess what? It's possible to be Serco, have high UIT standing, and still kill the occasional UIT pilot. Likewise, in Grey, high UIT standing can kill another pilot with high UIT standing.

Of course, as Pirren saw yesterday, two Serco with high Serco standing cannot hurt eachother in nation space :D

On topic, like always - you have to read more and write less. All this was suggested many times but you already know. The devs are well aware about this and will implement it soon(tm), period.

Only Alloh can take a topic as universal as native KoS/pirates becoming unaligned/grey and make it controversial. It's already been suggested, it's on the devs' list of priorities, and you don't need to complicate it. This issue is in good hands and I don't want to be in the "PINK" nation (well, some other pirates might, but I don't) as you suggested. Proof of concept for a grey/unaligned player faction is already in the works, just look at momerath42 when he's online.
