OFFLINE GAMEPLAY idea ;-)

Nov 11, 2009 lazykite link
hi all

as a newbie to playing Vendetta, i find all the controls and gameplay elements a bit daunting to learn all of them. as a casual player and only sometimes using the internet for gaming i would love to be able to just learn the basics, controls and handling my ship ect ect.

so would it be possible to make a single stage( a station, a few rocks, abit of space and a few bots to shoot.
This Demo would give people a chance to learn controls and get a few for the game before jumping online.

You wouldnt be able to gain xp or anything to used in the online version or even develop a character to be used online, its just give people a good starting point and also encourage them to play online.

so i think this would be awesome and hope the vendetta crew thinks this over, it could get new people interested in playing The game! ;-)

a another idea based on this, is that people could have dog fights on a lan network and it could allow guilds and clans to practice without being online.

anyway thnx for reading!
cheers

Have you been in the training sectors, yet?

well i did when i picked up the game last year for a few weeks, but to be honest im quite busy with other things (like digital art) so i want to be able to play offline, so that when i do jump into the game i can just play instead of spending hours trying to figure out whats going on. lol

also it would give total new people that might not normal play online games or dont have regular access to the internet to get hooked and get a subscription and whatnot!

unfortunately for me, i dont have the internet at home, so i have to pay by the hour. ;-O

i guess there would be alot of issues with what to actually include in the offline demo level, but a ship with a few missions to different parts of the grid and a few bots to practice shooting (the actual download would be very tiny i think.)
well its just an idea, lol

/facepalm

How about logging in before posting a suggestion?

edit: A lot has changed since last year, lazykite. You begin the game in a training sector with just about everything you describe and also some anti-griefing death turrets that will zap any player who tries to enter once they leave. It's Vendetta's own version of newbie island.

Surely this is a joke. Nobody is this stupid.

I'm getting irritated with the increased n00b-bashing of late. We all cry about there not being enough new players, and then we abuse them when they get here.

lazykite: Phaserlight is quite correct - but it sounds like perhaps you want a free offline version of the game to play on a computer that is not connected to the 'net. That's not in the cards.
