Leave FF off in Training Sectors -- RFC
I would first like to mention that I have read the following threads (and therefore have a decent understanding of what Guild is planning):

In the search to find the perfect solution between turning FF on in nation-space and making a safe-for-newbies environment, I believe it would be best to leave FF off in the Training/Newbie sectors. Doing so would ensure that the first hour or so of a newbie's experience is not ruined by griefers posing as newbies or griefers in general. Newbies would still be able to PvP through the dueling system (there would probably need to be a training mission that explains the dueling/PvP/combat/FF system). It might also be of use to make all members of other factions KOS in training sectors to discourage a UIT making a newbie (or otherwise) alt and traveling to the Serco or Itani training sector to wreak havoc. As soon as newbies leave the training sector, they are game for foul play (as the training mission would explain to them). Leaving FF off in these sectors would help to keep new players, and not detract to the playing experience of the older players.
This solution is slightly care-bare, but why shouldn't the first hour of gameplay be somewhat coddled? We want to allow players time to get hooked on the game before they are blown to smithereens and unable to escape.
P.S. I have stated much of this already in this thread (but figured it should get its own suggestion): http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/1/21036#260563
EDIT: I realize now that training guns don't do damage to players... this would have to change.

cause clearly training blasters that don't hurt other ships are clearly not enough...
The blasters for sale in the training sectors can be used effectively in duels. I have dueled in newbie sectors in ec89's using those blasters. What is your point precisely? It lacked... cohesiveness.
EDIT: I'm about to test the effectiveness of training blasters in duels. I was under the impression that they can do damage to other ships in a duel. If that impression was wrong, no reason not to have training blasters that do damage to other ships if FF is on.
EDIT2: Seems they don't really do damage. Well, then consider this a two-part suggestion. 1) leave FF off. 2) give the newbies something that shoots (and does damage)
