Marking "Storm Entrance Point" in the HUD
This idea is half-baked, so bear with me (and given that ion storms might be on their way out... the point I am about to make might be moot).
I think it would be interesting to show the entrance point to a storm on the HUD of ships in the storm. This would allow nefarious players to more-easily hide in storms along the paths that other players in the storm will most likely take (and hence be able to ambush them). The Devs have mentioned in the past that ion storms were intended in part to promote close quarters combat. So far, I have found they rarely do such a thing (except in boarder patrol missions), solely because it is nearly impossible to find anyone in a storm (not that there are ever that many people in a storm at one time).
Of course, I am making an assumption that all players enter a storm in the same location (no matter where they jumped from)... if I am wrong about this assumption, then I do not know how to implement this suggestion.

Could be helpful for when fog is implemented.
good idea

I was under the impression the entrance to a sector was determined by the exit tranjectory..... The entrance changes depending on where a player jumps in from....
Been wrong b4...

I thought it should be a big swirl of ions...making it visually found only..

Yah. Though sometimes these things are fudged. I dunno. I just feel like there should be a way of guessing where someone might be in a storm... and right now its nothing more than a wild goose chase (though its better now that the storm exit point is the same for everyone.
Not to mention, whether or not your hypothesis is right PaKettle could be easily tested. If I see you in game I'm up for it.

Guild allegedly implemented a common exit point for all ships in an ion storm.
This, of course, either never happened or never worked.

Lecter: I haven't done any testing of this recently, so I can't verify. If it isn't working though... submit a bug report? Might as well help the devs out.

I concur. Did a few escorts today, hit a few storms in Latos and my voy had a different exit point every time.

Atice, it has been wrong for ages and I don't even remember when it was supposed to have been implemented. You want to draft one, knock yerself out.
