I'd appreciate any feedback on how the Friendly Fire situation is working in grayspace. We made some off-the-cuff decisions as far as handling turrets and other things, and I'd just like to hear about any issues or concerns that have cropped up.. or also if you think it's totally awesome and working great. I welcome concerns like.. "you should really improve station defenses before you do this in nation space" and that sort of forward-looking stuff.
So, anyway, feedback welcome. Thanks all.

I absolutely love it, and I'd be in favor of expanding it to the entire universe right now.
I did observe one glitch. k'metreq was flying a greyhound with proximity mines and an energy gun. He was turboing at me, shooting and dropping mines. His shots instantly detonated the mines he dropped, destroying his ship with his own weapons. While I find the accidental self-destruction of a griefer highly amusing, this should probably be fixed.

Works greats except for what i said in bugs forum which has no reply so i'll say here. I'm UIT and if i shoot a UIT voy they do not shoot back, maybe cause they dont think they have to? All other none UIT voys do shoot back.
It's been great to have.

This is not a bug. You have always been able to shoot down your own mines.
I haven't run into any same-nation hostiles yet while puttering about in greyspace, so I haven't really had a chance to mess with it much -- next logical step seems to be the rest of greyspace, I think.
Quick question: are NPCs susceptible to friendly-fire yet?

Maybe it's not a friendly fire bug, but it is a bug: mines dropped while flying forward should not appear in front of your ship such that your shots hit them.
No, other way 'round: You should not drop mines when flying backwards and spamming energy. You shouldn't put claymore mines around your camp, either. Or put booby traps on your mess kids. It ain't genteel.
I would be in favour of extending FF throughout grey space, I'd be tempted to leave Nation space as it is until the updated faction system is closer to release.
I like the syustem except for the fact that you can kill your own ctc bots. I still think the CtC npcs should stay the way they always have been.
Really like it. When I was last on, I bumped into a fellow Serco in Grey. He was flying a Hound and I had an X-1. Rather than engaging in any duel horseshit, we just did what people who live in Grey do naturally.
I agree with Ecka that all of Grey and none of Nation space is a very good interim approach.
As a side note, Hounds should never, ever do anything with a Valk except run the fuck away.

Seems to run pretty well. No issues really I have seen. I mean it's just like being native kos or something or like fighting anyone else.
Oh. It is also very fun :P

I did get shot by an npc during hive skimish.... Guess they arent programmed to check the field of fire for friendlies.
Other then that no problems - expand it to all of grey

Griefers are no longer safe from their comrades. Expand to all of grey!
Might also be interesting to apply to BS sectors. Having to dodge both friendly and aggressive capship fire would be "crazy ass" :D.
I can't wait until large capship battles happen in grey!!

No issues. Very anti-climactic so far.
An expected side effect of this is that people have to be more cautious when using flares in group combat. Something that has been needed for a long time.

increasing the manueverability of the homing missles a bit so they are useful in pvp might be a way to provide a decent alternative to flares.
I hope you are joking, PaKettle.
Fully behind expanding FF to all of grey, and hopefully soon to all of everywhere. Adds more depth to the game in larger-scale combat, which is where the real fun is. Extremely positive change.
I have only experienced FF in the new universe in a Nation War, but I liked it. This one's a keeper! Also, I echo diqrtvpe's pst.
Although, now that we can conveniently avoid the duel system, it might be nice to create an incentive for people to use it again. Largely inaccurate rankings can be a source of endless fun.
How about each person in the top 10 gets 1 million credits every day?
