Faced with a sharp decline in sales of its unique Sparrow phase blaster due to competition from Ineubis, megacorporation TPG launched a massive research and development effort to reclaim the light energy market. The result is a unique neutron blaster variant: the TPG Hawk.

TPG market research determined that the primary market for higher-end light energy weapons is highly skilled light fighter pilots. Such pilots often disable autoaim, and are more interested in light weight and velocity than any other characteristics of a weapon. TPG therefore went to great lengths to reduce the weight and increase the velocity of the weapon.

The Hawk uses a smaller core and larger accelerator coils. The usual servomounts are replaced by a simple, light weight solid mount. Damage is reduced, but the velocity rivals that of the rumored Corvus Widowmaker, and the weight is barely more than the Raven.

aap is 17 blast per shot goes a little bit faster and does 300 more damage sorry but I don't think 200kg is going to save this weapon although it would be kinda fun to use i guess since it does have 5 more m/s on it

You don't have 'blast per shot'. You have 'energy usage per blast'. That aside, I like this. What does it take to get one, besides TPG admired (note: this will *not* be a pirate weapon, which is also a good thing)?

I wasn't thinking of anything beyond TPG admire. This is a commercial product, and TPG would like to sell as many as possible to anyone who won't use them against TPG.

the 200kg difference is pretty huge, especially given that the AAP takes forever to refire, giving this guy a near equal DPS (thank you peytros for another numskulled post).

Good gun overall. I'd use it on my x1 no doubt. It'd be a lot more useful if 16/blast got changed to just 15/blast, but if that unbalances, let's leave it as is.

ok then how about this atice if people are bitching over the raven being unbalanced this goes 20m/s faster weighs 20kg more has a .01 faster refire. the only balancing thing is oh god 6 more energy per shot my UCs will be drained so fast.

The Raven isn't unbalanced. The people complaining about it are AGT users who can't hit a good pilot in a Raven-equipped RevC.

This may well be superior to the Raven, but not as much as you might think. Most people rely on the small amount of autoaim their light energy weapons have, and the Hawk has none.

ah sorry ish i didn't notice the no auto aim i think i love this weapon now if it came in game now if we can just get a good raptor to put it one..../me makes a new raptor suggestion

peytros... the people complaining about the raven just don't like change or think its unbalanced because they don't know how to fight it. just because people complain doesn't mean they are right. christ.

and given the no auto-aim (something I missed as well), I think the gun could easily take 15/blast without being unbalanced. Of course, at that point it is basically a spam gun.
