Ammunition Reload Device
ElvisClone inspired this so blame him. We have repair services in space with the repair guns being used. But what if we run out of ammo? We could use a device to do exactly that...
The ARD (ammunition reload device) would be a large port device. Missiles for whichever launcher that needs to be rearmed could be purchased from stations and be stored in the storage hold of any trade vessel. Anyone in need of reloading could simply ask and the rearming vessel should make his way to his customer.
To do the rearming, both the Reloader and Reciever should approach within 1m or closer of each other and be perfectly motionless while reloading takes place. Reloading will be slow... a few seconds per missile. Two ARDs would make the process faster (Two large ports is the max I've seen on many ships). Anything that moves either vessel such as ramming, rockets, etc... would stop the reload process.

I like the concept, I have often wanted such a device. I like the idea of making players more self sufficient.
!!!IDEA!!! - I have just had a major idea. (if that wasn't obvious) If ships had the ability to 'dock' with one another, that could be required for reloading. Not only would this facilitate a simple reload, but could allow for players to switch ships! This could open a new black market for many players. Limitations could be placed that stopped people from switching into a ship that requires more than +2 to any of their licenses.
I don't mean to hijack your thread KennRNK, I just wanted to add it as an option to assist your idea. TY for the inspiration!

Might be a bit spammy in the weapons list but could make a repair device for each of weapon type, thus it would be of more benfit to those groups which standarized their weapons.
I was thinking more of a generalized reload device. All you'd need then is the ammunition. It could make vessels such as the XC very versatile given it's huge amount of cargo space. Then again a reload device made to reload a specific set of ammunition could make reloading faster. You could have one of each for ships that use both types of ammo (Rags with Gems and Chaos launchers, for instance).

Maybe ammunition as purchasable goods would fill the otherwise quite empty 'other addons' tab nicely
