Space Nomads
After reading the space hobo thread a number of times, I would like to say I think a BETTER idea to ACTUALLY implement would be some kind of nomad groups. Each nomad group would have a Constellation (or similar) mothership and basically be roaming "Nomad" faction convoys. They would mine in enemy-free asteroid fields in greyspace and trade their ores for supplies.
that's why we want guild-owned cap ships.
all guilds are nomad when you think of it.
until we get either player-owned stations or player-owned cappies, we're pretty much 'on the stree'.

Yeah, perhaps, but I do not want to depend on some giant mining guild to be the "Nomad" faction. Also, adding a faction and a set of semi-persistent convoys should be MUCH easier to implement than any player-owned anything, and would still add some depth of character to greyspace.
Like Jawas! They'd roam the spacelanes in their big crawler-ships, selling Aputechs and Fennussesess.
I like it
Hehehe. LeberMac, that would be AWESOME.
this made me think that I want the hive's mining beam, no heat but uber slow mining rate... not sure why it would be useful though.
Okay, on the topic of space Jawas: http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/3/14027#179609
Those dang space nomads are encroaching into our prime begging territories.
