anyways now that the prelude is out of the way

the enemies of your main faction should not be your friends too, if you are itani and you gain serco standing you should lose itani standing and vice versa. the only nation who should be able to have their cake and eat it too is the UIT because both Itani and Serco have friendly relations with them.

to be more specific you shouldn't lose standing with your home nation unless you begin earning higher faction standing like respect, dont want to stop non hostile players from exploring just want to stop your enemies from flying around in your own special fighters!

The eventual idea is to have mutually exclusive factions (Incarnate said so!) Example:

Itani + Serco <= 0
Corvus + UIT <= 0

Etc.

they are nice but I prefer the classic design of ships. I don't mind if a serco slaughters my hog with a prom but when they do it in a valk I get a bit annoyed! heh

Maybe I should be able to chase them around in the Nemisis eh!

if uit + corvus <=0, then umm we need to be able to get -1000 corvus. I mean i think its impossible to go below -599 now. thats not gonna work.

at present things like that are not possible.
remember, this game never remains the same for long, I've seen it change completely 3 time already in 2.5 years, basically 3 different games entirely, some have been around for all 4 super changes

It was an example, -1098 <= UIT + Corvus <= 0, then. That way you always have positive with at least one faction. Or something...

I agree with roguelazer... hopefully we will someday see caps like Serco + Itani <= 500 or Axia + Biocom <= 1200...

that type of factioning will make much more sense and pretty much fix this current dilemma but for the moment it is crazy!
