Problem Logging off
When Im out in space I have trouble logging off. I dont seem to have any problem logging at a station tho. I know that youre not supposed to type a key or move the ouse or anything and I wasnt. It still gave me the message of Sequence Aborted. Anyways I was in a totaly empty sector. No bots, players, roids, ect.,ect. Nothing cept me. I ended up having to fly to a station. Not that great big of a deal but still kind of a nuisance and possible bug that might should be looked at.
If you're in physics mode (flight-assist disabled) then you may be moving even if your velocity indicator says 0. switch to arcade (flight assist enabled) and hold down the decelerate and brake keys for a few seconds. let go and try /logoff again.
Temporary fix.

Try switching to physics mode. In arcade mode, even the slightest twitch of the mouse will count as movement (ie: vibration of the table). They really should change "no movement" to "no movement outside a 5 degree arc" or something...
This is odd since I can come to a complete stop in arcade, do /logoff, and turn around in circles and the sequence doesn't abort.
If you're at full stop, there's no motion, SL. It's only if you're not at full stop that you get the "arcade is trying to change your vector to match your mouse" behavior.
It has nothing to do with movement or physics/arcade. On my main char I'm unable to log out in space, whatever I do, just command-q (OS X) works, but quits the whole game, which is annoying when you just want to switch chars.
All my other chars, however, have no problem logging in space. Same computer, same client

That's very strange.
Basically, the logoff is aborted if you apply an acceleration to your ship or if you are damaged by something/one.
It doesn't make any sense that one character acts differently than other characters on the same machine.

Ive tried everything. Physics mode, arcarde mode. Nothing. Ill put the mouse right over the log off button and the barely click it. The timer comes up and before it can even count down to 9 it switches to Sequence Aborted.
Here's what happens to me. In physics.
If I am at a full stop in space there is a chance I will get sequence aborted even though I don't touch anything.
If I then nudge myself in a direction and drift the countdown proceeds as normal. This happens fairly often.
This may be random but it alos seems to occur only when I have nothing targeted.

Ray, this causes the logoff to abort:
1) Use this turbo lock alias by Eldrad:

2) Hit the turbo lock key (whatever you bound "ttog" to).
3) Once you're 3000m away, use the Nav window to jump to an empty sector and click the Jump button in the Nav window (don't use your "activate" key!)
4) Once you're in the new sector, hit ESC and choose "Log Off".
5) The log off will be aborted!
6) Hit your turbo lock key to "unlock" the old turbo you started in the previous sector.
7) Hit ESC and choose "Log Off".
8) You will log off.

BigMike, this one particular character you have a hard time with: do you use a particular engine and hull with that character?
Being damaged does not abort a log off in my case.
I've found that logging off while at a full stop sometimes does not work. Moving at a constant velocity does work. If I am in turbo (whether I am actually turboing doesn't matter) it does not work.

I was wrong. getting damaged does not abort logoff.
Having turbo active (whether or not you're turboing, ie. turbo ran out) will abort the countdown.
