Stealthy asteroids!
I've noticed a rendering bug.
In Initros C-5, there's a long chain of asteroids. I noticed at some point that some asteroids dissapear depending on the orientation you're looking at.
Witness the two snapshots:

The purple circle shows wich roids are dissapearing. The red arrow points to an asteroid that is visible in both snapshots, so you can relate the two images.
When I was sitting still in space, just turning left to right back and forth made the roids appear and vanish, as if some obscure and invisible object was hiding them. This didn't seem to change when I started moving forward (as in the snapshots).
Granted these objects are somewhat far from where I was (perhaps more than 3000m), but should that be a reason for them to vanish?
I was getting totally confused at my current position because of this.

This might be due to the distance of detail setting thingie. Then when you look at a different angle, it may be out of your viewing range.
there was another thread about this not too long ago, it can be found here
http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/2/8328
most of the way down solra explains it and ray confirms it.
EDIT: ok, the thread was from december, so it was longer ago than i thought, but its still more or less recent. :P

I still think the far clip plane should be configurable...it's way too far on 16-bit mode.

I would go for a graphics or video option that would
- adjust the z-clip plane
- or enable "nebulae" z-clipping "fog".
