100kg Datapad?
Just noticed this as I did a trade mission: datapads weigh 100kg. That's one hell of a datapad... is that the lowest increment of weight or something?
Serco have very large fingers and need very large datapads? ;)
or maybe it is a really BIG endian datapad.
Also the ultrasecure base1 number system takes up a lot of space.

its been packed in 2 square miles of bubble wrap.
It's just holding a lot of data.
you are actually smuggling somehting else. It is just a really bad cover story.
Did you look at its keyboard? Perhaps it has a lot of # keys.
Remember that data are plural, so while there is just one pad, there could be billions (or more) of data.
lol
Some of these really should be in tips, timed to play as someone loads an empty sector. That way they would never be sure that they saw it... a good easter egg.
"Datapads weigh 100kg because they are wrapped in two square miles of condensed bubble wrap."
I can just imagine the look on someones face as they see that flashed in front of them. :D

Datapads weigh 100kg because the data that they're carrying is REALLY heavy.
I think they're not actually "pads" and more "stone tablets" at that weight.
The itani recived a very large shipment of the 13 commandments and they got spread across the galaxy. Only this time they're made of super hard and heavy rock so no one will drop one and break it, then claim there was only 10.
15 commandments. 15.
Hmmm... Perhaps the pilots are Jews in Space?
It is actually just a person remembering all the data and always carries a lot of doughnuts with him.
I second "Jews in space"
Ah yes... History of the World Part II... The funniest movie that was never made...
I still want my Hitler on Ice... Curse you, Brooks!
no no no, the data pads are made of samoflange! :D
