Mines in conq stations
It is possible to lay L-mines (and any other mine for that matter) in and around conquerable stations and the station guards do nothing. I'm guessing this is due to the absence of an nfz. This would be fine if not for the ability to place the mines inside the station itself, thus masking their presence and at times making them difficult, if not impossible, to destroy.
Westacular, bless his heart, has taken it upon himself to be a noob and carpet L-mine the area around the docks (inside the station structure as well as outside) as a means of annoying other users of the conquerable stations.
Once he mines the entrances and exists to the stations in this manner, he alone can dock and undock, while the rest are forced to come back another time or painstakingly try to shoot through the station wall and hit the mines that are hidden inside. As I said this is not always possible.
As a result West, or any other enterprising noob, can effectively shut off access to a conquerable station indefinitely if they continue to lay mines.
I wouldn't have a problem with this if he couldn't hide his mines inside the station. I know this touches on other bugs mentioned here in this forum (re: structure of objects in the game), but I think there are other possible solutions to this that don't require a redo of the structure coding (or whatever).
Namely, the turrets should shoot the mines like they do in turret-guarded wormholes. Also, the station guards should also shoot the mines. The turrets and the guards might not be able to destroy the mines inside the station, but the guards can make it possible to tempKos the exploiter so they can't dock and reload in the station.

I don't consider this a bug.
Personally, I think the mine-sweeping behvior of most NPCs is pretty annoying and severely limits their tactical use against *players*.
A better fix for this would be to implement some kind of group-IFF for mines. That way a whole group of players could use mines to fortify their position.
PS: Just shoot the darn mines.

The bug portion of my comment was that the mines that are sometimes impossible to shoot because of their placement inside the station structure... sorry if that wasn't clear. Splash damage doesn't kill them so flares and avalons are useless against them -- only a direct hit with an energy weap works -- and this is blocked by the station wall, while the Lmine can shoot freely through it from the other side.
You shouldn't be able to place them inside a station, and doing so is exploiting a bug.

Sounds like a decent way to hold a station hostage.....
Call it a feature and keep it.

Flare the mines, problem solved.
Yes. I agree with Nahin (gack) on that point. Esp was demonstrating a bug in the system mesh. He hid inside stations. I just jackhammered him and he died.
you noobs, i just said twice now that the mines aren't subject to splash damage...
