Loging out, in space, instantly.

Well, I got the jump on Rhandome Mynah's Moth XC in Edras. Was within weapons range as he warped into the sector, and proceeded to rain nt2/starflares upon him. As the warp animation played out his health dropped to 50%, and then he vanished.

So well, weirder things have happened, so didn't really over think it. So as I sat waiting for another victim. (Chatlines included to show timestamps)

Less than 10 seconds in space? Ok, well, discussion was had on 100, and some seem to say that this has been happening a while. It could be something to do with login on a second client with the same account? Or is it more cheats in effect.

Anyway, it sucks. He did this over and over. He even once vanished in like 1 second. This is obviously a kind of game breaking bug, as it's not supposed to be possible to log out that fast. If it is due to a second client/account login, well that sucks.

Well.. I just found one way to do this. Not sure if it's the same method that your evil trader used.

It's pretty easy to do and doesn't even require two clients.

I'm gonna go and file a support request!

I didn't think what I saw was a second client, it did seem very controlled. Almost like he was able to just flick in and out of space as needed to check if I was still there. Nice one spuck.

that's cheap

Wonder if they are just executing the logout directly in the sandbox somehow bypassing the gui

I've sent a trouble ticket describing what I did and a suggested fix.
No client side programming is involved.
You noble brigands can continue to attack honest folk without the disorienting reality of the ship you're destroying suddenly disappearing.

I wish it were clever programming or a bug. It's neither.

That doesn't look like an apology for cheating.

I never claimed to be noble, but there was NOTHING honest in what you did. Nor am I the one claiming to be a law abiding trader. What you did makes you just as bad as Tumblemonster.

Yes, I said his name!

It's a bug, cos however you are doing it, it is not supposed to be possible. Next time, report it then abuse it. That way you can say "well, I told the devs, they aint fixed it so ner ner".

Let's tone down the accusations. This forum is for help and input, and I'm pretty sure the devs don't rely on it to determine who did what where and when.

Sorry, Phaser.

Plays the smallest violin in the word to play a sad, sad song for poor Yoda and what happened to him, there does that feel all better now ..lol

Yes thanks, much better.

[edit]

To be honest though, I really was not upset to begin with. I just find the whole "honest" statement a bit whacky, considering.

I guess the devs know about this now. Any chance of a ninny-lock?

We are aware of the situation, thanks.
