It looks like somebody (probably from a non-English country) was trying to send goofy characters through chat. VO's chat has terrible character support and only understands the bog-standard ASCII set, so when that happens it renders it as a square in the chat and prints error messages in the errors.log file. As far as how to fix it, nag the devs until they upgrade VO to support UTF-8. But it doesn't hurt anything; just makes it impossible for people to use stuff like the Euro symbol or correctly transcribe foreign languages. So that probably won't happen any time soon, since most of us care more about gameplay improvements than typing with accented characters.

humm you might be right about some one trying to chat but at that time i was just flying through space and there was no chatting for a while... but its just the same 3 lines of text...for countless pages lol so ill just leave it alone for now its not harming anything.... thanks for the reply :P

Do you have any vendetta plugins installed?
I've seen this problem occasionally a few years ago.
