The Trident Type M's Shared Group and Storm Radar Extender doesn't seem to be working right.

Exhibit A:

If the storm radar was working, I should see some turrets and station guards from where Xandar's ship is positioned.

Is this now working? A change to the sensor/radar system regarding turreted ships was hotloaded Friday night.

Well, I have my own Trident now and I had a guildmate test this. It still doesn't work.

According to this description and this explanation a group member within 500m of a Trident Type M in an ion storm should be able to see anything on radar that the Trident Type M can see. Since they have both a Heavy Storm Radar Extender (2000m) and Shared Group Radar Extender built in, that would be, at minimum, a 1500m range.

Ok, I got a chance to try this out in a non-stormy sector and it doesn't seem to work there either. I had my Trident in the asteroids in Ukari A-10 and my group members were way over by the wormhole. They were not able to target the cargo crates or other players near me.

I don't think the standard shared group radar extender works in non-storm sectors either (maybe it works in fog too?). At least that has been my experience.

Fix it or else!

um, it has worked for me for some time. question for whomever it has NOT worked: were you grouped when you entered the stormed sector? If not, that explains it: Storm radar range is set upon entering the sector. Enter a storm sector with a radar in your hold, you get a limited range, even if you then jettison the radar. Leave that sector and come back you have none even if you then scoop the dropped radar.

If what you say is true, CD, then it's a separate bug, it should update as soon as you are grouped.

Does the person with the Shared Group Radar Extender need to be the group leader?

I just tried it again today with my Trident. Nobody in my group could ever see more than 500m away in the storm, regardless of proximity to my ship. I was the group leader.
