Maximum password length is only eight characters. As far as I'm concerned, that is a bug, and a stupid one at that. This isn't the '60s. If some free service limited me to eight characters, I would laugh at them. Being given that limit by a service I pay for is absolutely ridiculous. Bump it up to 255, or at least 32.

Yes, I agree, we should improve this. It touches a lot of legacy bits and pieces, but it should all be improved.

just make sure the maximum length when you change password is not longer than where you enter it to log in
